Location: 4/5: Right across the center of town in Elkton KY. Really cannot miss the place if you take a lap or two around the center of town round-about. Ambiance: 4/5: The old soda shop is fun and busy. Lots of back in time decor and vibe. Value for : 3/5: I understand prices are rising everywhere these days...but it just seems like these prices jumped way up while the quality and quantity regressed. Cuisine: 3/5: Cannot not go wrong with the pretzel bites and beer cheese! Onion rings and cheese sticks were just okay. My son loved his French fries, but he said his burger was just okay...kinda dry and kinda tasteless. Whoever made my BLT needs to be...I don 't know but that was the sorriest BLT I have had in a long time. The coleslaw was left unfinished. Services: 2/5: The real reason why I am posting this review is because of the service. I completely understand having a bad day. I completely understand being off your game for an evening. However, when you see your server chumming it up with people she knows and ignoring her other tables, that makes for a good reason not to return to a joint. I spoke with the couples seated at the tables behind and across from us, both tables agreed that service was very, very lacking. Hygiene: 3.5/5: Everything was just okay. Tables, chairs, plates, cups, and utensils were clean. Bathroom was clean enough. Recommend: At one time, we would have strongly recommend L&R and we would have gladly returned. Today, maybe, maybe not. Parking: All depends on when you go whether parking is plentiful or not. Go on a bad night, and you will be walking.

The wait for the food was long. They got one of our orders wrong and after another 20 minutes we cancelled that order. Our waitress didn’t come to check on us. We had to go get her own refills on drinks. The service was horrible, horrible! We were there for an hour and 15 minutes. People that come in after us were served before us. We will not go back. Drove over an hour to celebrate a birthday and enjoy family time together but sadly it ended badly. There was a long wait to receive food due to a local car show. No problem, understandable. The server never check on our table to make sure we were good while waiting. The food finally comes out and one of the items is wrong. They tried twice to push the wrong order, told them the correct order thinking the corrected order would arrive within five minutes. No, the food never arrived. The server never checked on us to get refills or anything thing else that we needed. Did not offer to go check on the food that was supposed to be corrected. We had to go to the bar to get drinks, but the server was too busy getting ice cream to refill the drinks. Canceled the food that never came. Then the server was trying to make up by giving excuses. Asked for a box for the kids meal, the server was too busy getting everything else done than to give a box. The ticket was done all together instead of being broken up, while including a larger gratuity tip than what was earned. Told management and all they could say was they will give a discount on the next visit. It was made very clear we will not be back. Don’t waste your time traveling.
