Bj Bull Bakery - Elko

Is BJ Bull a bakery or a pasty shop? I guess it depends on your definition of bakery. They do have some pies and desserts, but the star of the show here are the pasties. Their selection of quality pasties are made with delicious flat shortcrust pastry STUFFED with various ingredients. One pasty is easily a meal. Any of their three beef pasties are great and the only thing that would make them more traditional would be to add some parsnips. Pasties are served warm out of the oven, but you can also buy ready made pasties that you can take home and heat and eat. This place is take out only (no inside seating).

I absolutely love their cabbage and beef pie It is amazing and remind me of home. The inside of the pie has amazing flavors and is the outside is flaky and buttery.Food: 5/5

My breakfast pasty had a soft, almost mushy crust that seemed underdone to me. I prefer a flakier crust with a little crisp to the outside. The filling was mostly egg and totally fine, just a bit bland. Could have used more salt.Food: 3/5
