Joseph's Steak House - Elgin

Best Burger I've ever had, how at home in a grill delicious (not sure what his secret is? Everything else is also amazing. Love the Texas ranch themed artworks.

My wife and I came to town for lunch. I had the burger who had a very respectable Burgerpatty and was very good. My wife had the loaded baked potato, which was also responsible and very good. In conversation with the waiter we were surprised to learn that Joseph's was there five years (we don't get much out). The decorative music was pleasant, the stand was comfortable, the food was good, and we will be happy to come back to try the steaks on another day.

Edit: Today is the third time I drove all the way to this place just to close it. Lunch on Saturday. As stated in my previous review, the food, the atmosphere and the drinks are great! Unfortunately, it doesn't matter how good you are if you're not here. Such a shame! Don't waste your time! Never again. Absolutely fantastic! Food and service is great! Like others, the operating hours are dirty. I give 5 stars based on my experience, but I will be back on the reviews that mention that they drove all the way here just to find closed doors. I ran a dont-bout here! Just leave! Drove all the way from Austin to find locked doors after you eat here a week before!?? I gave only 5 stars because I don't want to hurt your business because the food and experience was the merit of the highest rating. There are not many noble steak houses around and I want REALY to love this place!

The staff (i.e. my waiter who brought me to my table, took my order and took my payment was pleasant atmosphere is typical Texas Cowboy, but with Italian romance music that was bizarre .. not bad, just strange. I ordered Bacon wrapped filets, medium wheel/medium. I told the waiter I took care of the steak being overcooked. The fillets were so small, there was no way to cook the bacon correctly without overcooking the steak. That said the bacon was quite delicious and the star of the tray. Presentation was, well, you decide My duck was the chicken roasted chicken with dinner Gravy and a loaded potato. The chicken tasted fresh like the fried kindness. It wasn't fat, which is a plus. The chicken was a bit hard, that was disappointing. Most disappointing was the total lack of taste, and you KNOW for me, Flavor is king! The chicken and the engraving simply lacked every taste honestly. I was able to use it with bacon from the appetizer and some salt and pepper, but otherwise quite bland. The loaded potato was quite good, with the fixes! Overall, I would return because the quality of the food was good and atmosphere and staff was beautiful.. I could add some garlic or sea salt to your dish; Pricing I thought was quite reasonable also Kinda get some...

There was an insect in one of our drinks. We were very please with the staff and the food, until my wife saw the dead insect in my drink. She had the waiter call the manager, but the manager told him to tell us that he/she was too busy to come and it would take him/she about 15mins. She told the waiter that that wasn't acceptable and explained the situation to him and he went back to talk to the manager, this time he took the drink with him to show him/her the insect inside and came back to apologize about the insect, no manager with him, since he/she was too busy even for that. An insect in a clients drink and the manager never showed! That can get us SICK and the manager didn't think that it was important enough to come?! We wonder if the manager would also be too busy to talk to someone from the health department. What it started as a nice date with my wife turn into a disgusting experience. 7/9/2021. 7:00PM
