Bidrage med feedbackThe rooms are slightly outdated, but are under renovation. The restaurants were all good, and easy to book. The resort is overall very pretty, the pictures on google and the website don’t do it justice. The staff was all super friendly. The pools are great, with great seating around. The beach it’s on is nice too! The night show is fun, and there was a glow party that was cool too.
Our room was great, the ladies who clean do an amazing job. It was a tad dated and they are doing Reno’s but for a dated room it was still very clean and looked after. I do recommend upgrading to premium if you are not into the full on party scene at night. You are away from all of that and have your own pool that was much less busy but could still go over to the other side for more activities when you wanted. The food was mediocre at best. They do Costa Rican food well but American food is lacking. We had a terrible experience with a bell boy named Daryl. He tried to scare us into with booking our tours with the resort. He went on and on about how it’s not safe with the others and they are scammers. Well I’m not an idiot and I do my research and our tours we booked not using the resorts people were absolutely amazing and we were 100% safe and looked after beyond what was expected. This was the only bad experience with the people of Costa Rica. Everyone else was amazing and friendly and truthful. My lower rating of the resort is based on the experience with the one bell boy. That really took a lot of points off our stay.
Would certainly recommend The Fiesta Resort to others. The staff are amazing, the resort is clean, and the food is great. Most everyone at the resort speaks Spanish, although we only speak English, everyone tried their best to understand what we were saying. We flew into Liberia and it was a 2 1/2 hour bus ride to the resort, but great once we arrived. Arturo, the Tour Guide at the front entrance of the resort supplied us with 6 amazing tours as Sunwing was unable to supply tours. With the help of Arturo, we were able to get a great taste of Costa Rica.
The hotel could do better. It 's been mentioned before; this resort is on the more affordable end with corresponding room quality and food selection. Service (beyond front desk) is exceptional, and facilities are in really good shape (pool and lounging area). Unfortunately, they really lack in communication (mostly management and reservations). We tried requesting adjoining rooms right after we made our reservation, but no one has gotten back to us or even acknowledged receiving the emails. Front desk personnel not friendly. Impossible to reach them by phone from the rooms. It 's generally impossible to talk to reservations or management at the hotel. They only have the international number, and no human picks up. Spent $60 on international calls without being able to talk to anyone. (There were 22 of us, and one family needed assistance with their payment method, that is why we were trying to call them). Emailing them was problematic for another family that wanted to join us for a few days, so they ended up at a different hotel. We were in the 'premium wing ' of the hotel, but only by luck, as there is no communication on how that can be booked or what it entails until you get there. My guess is that you will be placed in premium if you book waterfront rooms, but again, no guarantee as it is not described during the reservation process. Rooms are comparable in both wings honestly, so premium is not that premium after all. However, that wing comes with pool side service, it 's own breakfast and lunch restaurant and daily visitors cannot access that end of the property these are the main benefits to it, probably worth the extra money. You probably heard about the people being bussed in from nearby areas or the capital. That happens every day and lines get really long during the day for that reason. Location isn 't great, crocodile bridge is about 30 minutes, first great surfing spot 1hr , everything else is 2 3hrs at least. This wasn 't our first time in Costa Rica, last time we visited Montezuma, and that was a much better experience. We kind of knew what to expect going in, and our family and friends made sure we all had a good time. However, if you 're on the fence, don 't book this hotel, or maybe for just a few nights, for cheap accommodation and food.
This visit, we learned all inclusive rip you off as much as possible. The nicest thing about this hotel BY FAR was the lobby. Won 't be doing the resort thing again, I 'd much prefer to pay for actually good food, drinks, room, etc. Thank goodness for my wonderful, good spirited wife, or this could have been an atrocious time. We arrive to check in in a nice lobby, there are about 6 people working behind the front desk, and at least 6 more wandering around supposedly helping, but it takes about 20 minutes before we are shepherded into a very ugly conference hall instead. Again, tons of people working but the line takes another 20 minutes or so. We arrive in our room, it is as stated in the other reviews, very 80s 90s. It 's pretty dark, smells like either a rat died or someone shoved a wet towel in the vents, and the AC is extremely loud. It is fortunately relatively clean and the beds are comfy. There 's no room service. We go downstairs to a foam party which is a VERY crowded pool with kind of a medium amount of bubbles in it, and a guy screaming into a microphone. Basically all the events were along the lines of guy yelling in mic , so we steered clear of the main pool. We got cocktails, we had SIX drinks each and did not feel even somewhat buzzed. I imagine each maybe had 1/4 of a shot in it, or maybe the alcohol bottles were filled with water. We got snacks at the pub and had a burrito filled with french fries, with a side of french fries. No seasoning and very minimal salt remember what I said about ripping you off maximally? Apparently that extends to salt on the food? We walked to the beach it was a pretty view but the water was way too dirty to swim in, if not obvious by its murkiness, then emphasized by the oil tankers in the distance. The dock was closed and clearly falling apart. Dinner was one of the most mediocre buffets I 've ever been to. Again, most of the food was not seasoned, not well cooked, and a poor imitation of food you can get way cheaper and way tastier anywhere else in the country (for example, we had caldosas the day before, and the ones in the buffet tasted like they had watered down the lime and used old fish in comparison to the ones we got for about 1000c at a stand in san jose) There was a wide variety of food to choose from but it was basically all terrible. The coffee was extremely watery, but also tasted burnt and old. There are SO many people working there, and I felt so bad for them, almost all of them looked very sad. Again, I would rather have less employees to help me but have them be treated more respectfully by management. We briefly swam in one of the pools and it was fine, kind of cold and super chlorinated. At night, fortunately the drinks were poured a little stronger, there 's a fancy bar, but it seats about 20 people and they refuse to serve you unless you find a chair. It was only open from maybe 6 to 10 or so, so we couldnt get a seat. At the less fancy bar, one of the worst sounding sound systems I 've encountered was absolutely blasting cheesy old pop hits, again, with a guy screaming into the microphone periodically. We basically ran in, got drinks, and then ran 100+ meters away to get out of the range of the sound system. Every now and then 5 or so people would get up to dance, but I wouldn 't really call it a party by any stretch. Breakfast was also buffet style, again the coffee was TERRIBLE and surprisingly difficult to acquire (there was a counter with no one behind it and we stood there confused for a few minutes before someone showed up to pour us a watery coffee) and the food was so mediocre we wished we had just left first thing in the morning and gone elsewhere. Sorry y 'all, your money is definitely better spent elsewhere. We could have paid much much less for a much better experience.
