Bidrage med feedbackThe service was very good, but unfortunately the food was at best average. The steak was particularly bad, we asked for medium rare, but the quality of the meat and the method of cooking was bad, it was well served. The best thing about the restaurant was the staff that was very friendly, but we cannot ignore the quality of the food.
Small, cramped and crowded tables. Lousy Service. We went in high season and when there were two free tables, they refused to assemble them for us, the 5 (2 adults, 3 children). They let us get up for 20 minutes to be free for a table of six because they didn't want us to occupy the tables of two. Unusual. In the end we left with the children without food, because the table of six was never released, while the two tables of 2 remained free... The food was told, is good? The decoration is correct, from Bergdorf, but so crowded that it is not distinguishable or pleasant. I won't return.
Steak was great. Very recommended. Was in El Chalten for three nights, usually for those trips I would go somewhere else to eat every night. I was there and night 1 and had to go back for more. With higher expectations for the second night, it matched everyone. 5 stars for a 5 star steak.
Ahonikenk is a simple restaurant in the centre of El Chaltén near the bus station. The restaurant offers lunch. A busy atmosphere and good food defines its character. Don't expect a good meal. Waiters are friendly attentive and service is surprisingly fast. A weekday we passed Ahonikenk and found people outside the door, a good sign. When the restaurant was opened at 17:15, all tables were occupied within minutes. Later, the people had to remain silent for a table and often turned away. We went for spaghetti Bolognese and a cooking salad with chicken cheese, accompanied by a glass of Malbec. The food was good, but nothing special, and the wine was OK. We finished our dinner with a tiramisu. If you have an affordable dinner, Ahonikenk is the place for you.
We stayed for just one day in El Chaleten, and by recommendation for lunch.we reached this s small cozy restaurant. This place is amazing, with no doubt I would say it’s the number one place to go. Very assorted menu, all great quality and size, with that taste of homemade that you could say “made with love”. Excellent service also, making the experience incredible. If we were to stay more days in this beautiful place, we would surely be enjoying Ahonikenk much more! Don’t miss it!
