Bidrage med feedbackNothing wrong in this place, but nothing special. The food was okay and it was job. It filled us and we were not sick.
After a Harr Trek is always a pleasure to have a good meal. You can eat big burgers and meats on La Casita.
They are obviously known for their lamb and trout, but we had the bife de lomo (with pepper sauce and without) and loved it so much we had to come back a few days later.
I hate doing this, but wow, this place was bad. The chicken tasted like a plane chicken, a bite was enough. The steak, which was advertised as Tenderoin, was more like the eye of round dough than leather and the egg omelet was so salty that it was unusable, even the wine was grayly corked. The owners were eating in their own kitchen between us. There are many excellent restaurants in El Chalten. Even if it is very charming from the outside, do not eat here!
This restaurant is on the main street towards the road to the Lago del Desierto. The building looks very inviting from the street, but it is very simple inside. Still, their food is quite good, cooked by the mother of the owner, every plate is freshly made, but do not expect sofistication. At the time of the visit they offered a very cheap menu, at about 10 dollars per person, including a soup, a main course to be chosen from four different possibilities and a dessert. The price also includes a bread basket with home made bread. If you want a cheap meal and do not expect a refined sorroundings, this is the place to go. They accept Visa and MC credit cards.
