Bidrage med feedbackI ate here twice during my visit of the Edmonton Fringe. I kind of love the irreverence of not renaming anything that is traditionally made with animal products. I also didn 't think I 'd ever hear the sentence: What would you recommend for a non-vegan. at a bar. The chicken and waffles were absolutely amazing. The chicken was more meatball like than fried chicken but it was very tasty nonetheless. The Buffalo chicken wings could 've been a little crisper and less greasy but I still enjoyed them. The BBQ burger was a bit of a flop, the patty was way to soggy. I tried the greek wrap without cheese the next day and this was definitely a great choice if you are looking for something less greasy but still delicious. Loved the Mexi-fries. A non-vegan friend ordered the mac-and-cheese but without the hot-sauce and he was quite delighted as he hadn 't enjoyed proper mac-and-cheese since becoming lactose intolerant.
On a visit to Edmonton, a friend took me to The Buckingham. We ordered the wings as an appetizer, I ordered the BBQ burger (with poutine fries) and my friend ordered the donair. The wings were so-so but we both enjoyed our entrees and the poutine was pretty good!
The Buck is our go-to place for laid back hangs. Amazing staff, vvings, great fries, and the Crunchwrap is to DIE for! I love that I live near this place. Just a note that this bar is fully vegan, don’t know why HappyCow characterizes it as vegetarian?
Food is always tasty! Love that they’ve decided to do a lot of standard pub style dishes but veganize them. Staff are always friendly and the atmosphere is so chill. Almost always order too much food so I can take some home to my teenagers because they love it too.
When you are in the mood to sit in the sunshine, eat too much grease and gluten, and drink too much booze, The Buck should be your destination. I haven’t been there since the menu revamp and I am happy to report that the jalapeño poppers didn’t disappoint. The poutine was salty (in a good way) the wraps were wrappy and the corn dogs were corny. Ahhhh one of the places that makes Edmonton summers great. Updated from previous review on 2018-07-28
