Thai Orchid Restaurant - Edmonton

We ordered this as a delivery from DoorDash due to the ongoing pandemic. The pad Thai was tasteless. The chicken with cashews and the green veggie curry were good but not exceptional. Overall, I think 3/5 is reasonable. It is possible my tastes were jaded from having Thai in Thailand and some of the major cities in the US.

The food was excellent and the service was also very good. We especially like the Pad Thai. This was the first time during this visit that the restaurant wasn’t really busy. The six of us in the restaurant really enjoyed the quietness and the additional attention.

Quick solo dinner on a business trip. Patience required with a waitress who didn't speak very good English but worth it. The fish cake starter was divine with just the right amount of sweet chili sauce. The beef red curry was great and also had the mango sticky rice for desert. Reasonable prices. Would go back again when here on business again.

Located on Gateway Boulevard on the south side with lots of parking space. they only have 1 or 2 servers. the food tastes average to good, depending on what items we have ordered. Yom yum soup with chicken pad thai are good. Green or other curries are not so tasty and kind of bland. The ambience is bright and nice.

Food was colorful but had no taste. We treated 2 older ladies to lunch and they were looking forward to Thai food as they do no have this type of eatery where they live. The Special Pad Thai had no flavor only the hot spice taste. The Beef/Broccoli with black Bean sauce was equally flavorless gorgeous to look at but bland. We were disappointed because we have been to other Thai Restaurants where the food was delicious! This one boasts of authentic Thai cuisine, but we were not impressed. The server brought glasses of warm water to begin never offered a refill. Also did not ask if we wanted anything else to drink. We were there about 1 pm nobody else in the restaurant at the time and no one else arrived while we were there.
