Bidrage med feedbackRude staff...horrible food...well trained by cheap owner who could care less that his resturaunt has a reputation of serving bad food, rudely I might add, for years...dont believe me...do some research and you will see! Avoid at all costs!
I recently took my family for the first time to your Humpty's location @ 13232 97 St, Edmonton, Ab and had the worst experience. We initially had minor issues...seating in empty restaurant 2 feet away from only other patron...asked couple times for napkins..minor. Then took bite of fish that I ordered and it was as tough as a steak...must have been freezer burnt or something but I took one bite and left it...finished my soup. Finally after meal the waitress came over and asked if she could get anything for us and we told her about the fish. She asked if I would like something else...I stated that I would be fine with just the soup as I ate some of my wife's meal and to just bill me for the soup...she stated she would "see what I can do"...then she slid us the bill without a single word. That is fantastic customer service. She also did not offer us the dessert that comes with both our kids meals...another example of fine customer service. I went to pay for the meal and asked the waitress why she charged us for the fish...she stated " I offered you something in replacement" I stated that I told her I did not want anything that we were at the end of our meal and would not wait at this point. She then stated "we are not allowed to give a refund on meals" WHAT! A restaurant that has policy of "ALL ORDERS ARE FINAL!" How is this possible...I asked to speak to the manager...she stated that there was no manager...I asked to speak to the supervisor then...she stated there was no supervisor...WHAT!!! I said what kind of restaurant has no supervisor and no refunds whatsoever..she replied "lots of restaurants don't offer a refund" I then called her an idiot and asked how long she had been a waitress...Point is...we came to this restaurant for the first time with our two kids...left unhappy with service, food...got told to pay and like it...then had to argue with the staff about how this behavior is not right. And then...I followed up the next day to speak with owner, Pyarali Lakhani who listened to my concern partly, proceeded to accuse me of calling his staff names, and continued to defend himself and his restaurant with accusations of how I only pointed out the fish issue when the bill came. I must say, to have an owner, accuse the customer of equal wrong doing to justify his,and feel right in this behavior is so appalling ...we obviously would not recommend.
I've been going to this Humpty's location for a few years now. The waitresses there are great. They are always friendly. I've never been disappointed. Was there July 15th around suppertime. I ordered their Swiss Chicken Wrap with french fries and a side of gravy. It was very very good. The meal was filling could not finish. And if your in the mood for dessert I really love their Carrot Cake. It's to die for. I've been to other Humpty's locations and I consider this one the best.
I wanted to put it out here because I ate here a few times before and never had problems at this location like this time. I came in to eat lunch and was greeted like I have been before, it was pretty busy when I first walked in here and was greeted by a server named Tara which she said for 1 and looked around and said if I minded to sitting at a 2 seated table, for which I replied no problem. I sat down and she came over within a minute gave a menu and took my drink order. By the time she got back I ordered the special on the table a double burger with cheese and unlimited fries,soup or salad. I ordered the soup and burger. So far not to bad everything is going well. The food took probably about 10 mins and despite being busy all is pretty good. Tara refilled my pop once while waiting for the food and finally after about the 10 mins the food arrived, so I eat the burger and soup which were very good by the way. This is where it goes downhill, as I finish my food I wipe my face my server Tara brings my bill, but I had barely finished my meal and she never even asked if I wanted a soup or pop refill, so I asked for the refill on my soup she obliged. I am the type to need at least 3 refills of my drink because at $3 I don't like to waste my money and with unlimited soup why go less than 3 bowls. The bowls are probably 8-10 oz of soup so 1-2 bowls are a waste of a unlimited soup special. I waited 10-15 mins after the second bowl the place was empty and she was clearing tables and wiping them off. Not once in that time did she even bother to come to me even tho she looked at me and even walked right by me several times; furthermore in that whole time 3 tables of 2-5 people came in to eat. Finally after she took the order of the one table closest to me she started to come my way I had asked her for both a pop and soup refill, for which she did get and so I finished those off and got ready to go. In the time I waited I said to myself "what the bleep is wrong with this person she cleans all these dirty tables and went to the same table 2-3 times when serving the new tables and not once did she even look my way so I guess she doesn't want a tip". I base my tips on the full service from the time I walk in to the time I leave and if I am dissatisfied in any part I either reduce the total amount or I don't give anything. In this whole situation I am the type to understand that as a restaurant worker the work can be stressful and hectic because I have worked in a few myself, but as I see this person take a order then walk away instead of coming to ask if I needed anything else then putting in the order then getting what I wanted she seemed like not a multitasking type of person. Also when I asked her for the refill(s) she never took my dishes which if she did it would have reduced the time later for her having to clean up the mess later. The worse part is when I order an unlimited soup,salad or fries meal I would appreciate not to have the bill put on the table before I get a refill or even finish the first part of my meal. All it seems to me is getting the check that quick makes a person feel like you just want them out quickly, while service and quality is second. Lastly, the attentiveness of being a server may get a person a better tip unless this person does not want a tip. Tara is only getting 2 stars out of five.Not based on the several previous visits, I am giving a 2 thumbs down on this visit despite starting out great. Visited on May 23/16
Went here for a seniors birthday family lunch. I will say the service was alright. The food for me was terrible. A greasy chicken sandwich with not very fresh toppings. Waited at the table to pay for 20 minutes and finally had to go to the counter. Will not go back. Note: parking is very limited.
