Bidrage med feedbackHaweli one of the oldest Restaurants serving Indian cuisine in Edmonton. It has all Indian traditional decor with perfect yellow light and pleasant ambience. . . Things we ordered: Paneer Pakora Mango and Salted Lassi Dal Bukhara Kadai Paneer Variety of Naans onion, garlic, plain) . . I would have happily rated it with 5* but paneer pakora were definitely a no no. Also, the Lassis which is supposed to be thick was extremely watery). . . But the main course did the magic it was the best Indian taste I have ever tried in town. The onion naan was very delicious it was in the form of stuffed kulcha. . . P.S: We opted for the menu but they do serve buffet and they have happy hours 3-6 from 9 to close.
Food and sitting is good. Prices are affordable and lighting inside there is dim which makes feel good. Staff is polite. Totally worth what you pay for.
North Indian cuisine with a few Indo-Chinese dishes too. Food was tasty. Service was okay . It's a spacious place and very close to Roger's downtown.
Quick and tasty Indian buffet with well marked gluten free options for a fAir price they can make lentil bread instead of naan for you if gluten free
So often in W Canada, Indian food feels like it comes out of a pipeline that feeds into every restaurant with the same dishes: huge chunks of onion, quarters of red pepper and more bone than meat in a curry gravy. Not here! We needed a place to sit and rest on a Saturday and headed into Haweli for a small snack. I had the vegetable soup and my husband ate the minced chicken kababs. You could taste to love of food in every bite. This was no pipeline experience! We returned with low expectations for a meal. I ate lamb curry, we had fish pakoras and more kebabs. We also had an Indian salad of tomato, cucumber and onion on the side along with 3 big fluffy nan. OK- it sounds like a lot of food, and it was, but wow was it great (and we fearlessly ordered 'spicy ' Both times we went during the day on a weekend and had the place to ourselves. Haweli, I, am told, means 'mansion ' and this place is vast. Probably packed on weekdays with office folks, the calm and good service were welcome. Listen, there is nothing wrong with pipeline cooking but folks, this is cuisine!
