Freshii - Edmonton

My girlfriend and I stopped by for a quick meal at this restaurant. We arrived 10 minutes before closing and felt bad for coming in so late, but it was the only healthy option available at that time. Delivery drivers were still coming and going. I ordered a dish that tasted fine, but my girlfriend's soup was awful - the broth was basically just water. It would have been nice if the woman working behind the counter had told us she couldn't make the soup, so we could have chosen something else. It definitely put a damper on our evening. This occurred on February 25th. My girlfriend did not end up eating the soup.

I discovered that the owner keeps the tips paid by credit or debit card. Though this is allowed in Alberta, I personally do not support this practice and will not be returning as a customer.

This restaurant is not on any map. The owners keep tips for themselves and do not share them with employees. Employees are informed that they will only receive cash tips. If you want your tip to go to the employees, make sure to hand it to them directly.

Owners should really consider paying their employees better and not stealing their tips. Tip cash when you go.

If you’re gonna tip the staff leave them cash as the owner keeps all tips for themselves if it’s done via debit/credit. apparently the staff can only keep the cash tips…. won’t be supporting this business any longer! shameful behaviour
