Bidrage med feedbackDespite the food being of great quality, it is important to have staff who are attentive and take pride in creating a visually appealing sandwich. The difference between a Starbucks employee and a Tim Hortons employee is stark. The staff at Fife Restaurant lacks enthusiasm and simply go through the motions. While efficiency is important, customers paying for a $10 sandwich expect a high-quality end product without it being messy or haphazardly assembled. Even those not watching their diet appreciate a generous amount of butter, mayo, and mustard. It is also preferable for the sandwich to be stacked neatly and vertically. During my visit, I had to specifically ask the employee to place the top piece of bread (which made up 3/4 of the sandwich) as they were about to just throw it on.
There's nothing special about eating in this restaurant. Eating is fine. I also had the Strawberry Rhubarb Pie, which was quite disappointing. I guess I expected something my mom would do, or better. I couldn't believe they were selling Starbucks... Sarg... although that's just my opinion. Among the 3 of us, the highest rating was 3.5.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch from this amazing establishment for a birthday party and it was a big hit with everyone. I highly recommend their food, and the staff were all very kind. One of the young ladies even helped me load everything into my car, which was incredibly helpful and thoughtful.
Fifendekel used to be known for their delicious cakes in Edmonton, but now it has gone downhill. The once thick and flaky crust has been replaced by a thin and tasteless one. The creamy and delicious egg-based custard fillings have been replaced by a bland alternative. The fresh cream topping and beautiful piped rosettes have been substituted with a thin cream and small portion. Even the fruit fillings look unnatural and lack flavor. The overall experience has been diminished with plastic panels and utensils replacing traditional plates and cutlery. It is disappointing to see such a decline in quality and the only positive aspect seems to be the lower prices, which now reflect the decrease in quality. It is truly a sad situation.
I went there today for the first time, not expecting anything we would eat (vegan). I was surprised to find out that they have a veggie sandwich and a chickpea sandwich. They also have fruit cups, carrots and celery sticks with hummus (I don’t know...know if the hummus is vegan, so ask). Was told that all the bread is vegan which means tons of options. White bread, brown, multi grain, rye and sunflower bread. I kinda wish they had vegan butter but that’s ok. The customer service was great. Friendly and efficient. We would be going back.
