Bidrage med feedbackWent to the Blue Willow with friends after a funeral. Each one of us ordered a dish that we wanted and shared with each other. Everything tasted great. Had a great time. Would go back
The server and the service I had at the Blue Willow was excellent and very friendly. I ordered a plate of Chinese greens with steamed rice and washed it down with a cold beer! The mixed vegetables and light sauce plus the bowl of steamed white rice were cookedjust perfect for me! I'll definitely be back!
Would say very near the worst Chinese food we have ever ordered! The pork and beef in the dishes ordered were so full of gristle and inedible
Stan and his staff made our experience at The Blue Willow exceptional. We had a group of 28 people and the food was served hot by friendly and helpful people. There were those in our group with special food requests because of allergies etc. These requests were dealt with seamlessly. Everyone in our group commented on how wonderful the food and service was. We especially loved the stories and comments by Stan. Thank you Blue Willow.
I went to Blue Willow twice during my stay in Edmonton. The first time I ordered off the happy hour menu: onion cakes, an eggroll, and dry ribs. I left wondering if it was me, or if the Blue Willow is stuck in a time warp? There was absolutely no refinement in the execution of any of the items the onion cakes, sparsely flecked with green, resembled bloated flapjacks; the eggroll wrap was thick and seriously deeply fried, its stuffing heavy on the 5 spice seasoning; and the dry ribs were just that dry, and barely edible. Because the room was so nice and the server so attentive, I thought I'd try again. This time I ordered a vegetarian chow mein. Oh dear. What a miss. The only vegetables were tiny strips of pepper; completely lacking in the dish were crunch and seasoning...fairly key components. The restaurant is beautifully appointed, large, and has the potential to tap into the student population and workers in the area. An overhaul of the menu, a focus on execution and lightening up the offerings would, I think, help this restaurant significantly.
