Despite being located in the matrix hotel, the Wildflower Grill was surprisingly good.
Wow -- this place is great! First, I was with two colleagues from work during a break between two meetings we were facilitating in the Matrix Hotel.
This restaurant is not my cup of tea. The bar was filled with loud, rowdy customers on a slow day. The tasting menu offered small portions for a high price. The waitress incorrectly told me that the green peppers in my clam chowder were mild, causing me to spit them out with a burning sensation in my mouth. I was then served a plate of asparagus as the only vegetable option. The staff also failed to notice when my water glass was empty and I had to ask for a refill. The seating consisted of uncomfortable backless benches, although a proper chair could be requested. Overall, this is not the place for someone looking for a satisfying meal with plenty of protein and vegetables. The coffee, however, was enjoyable after the disappointing meal.
4 plates divided. Scallops cooked perfectly, sauce not very aromatic, chased the small amount of peas around the plate. Beet platter was good. Tuna poke had strings of supposedly kelp salad, fries were sparse and not wasabi powder. If more chips were requested, the answer was "not sure but will be checked". Return with 4 chips. It seemed rather strange that the smoked bluefish and avocado toast was served with bluefish on one toast and avocado on the other.
