Bidrage med feedbackVery hard to pay on Sunday! Couldn 't catch anyone 's eye so walked over to the till and stood there while staff hovered around restaurant clearing up etc. A waitress started clearing the table by the till, putting glasses beside it, getting a cloth to wipe it, etc. I asked if we could pay our bill. She said Wait till I 've done this table. And we did. Eventually she finished and it took us 1 minute to pay. This was at 3.15 in the afternoon, there were any number of empty tables so not the slightest need to prioritise clearing more tables. I can see this is quite self-sacrificing by floor staff who throw away tips by this, but it would be more conventional and I suggest better to prioritise customers.
Hidden gem in the centre of Edinburgh, tucked out the way below the Scottish national gallery its less chaotic than other cafes, we went on six nations match day and had a good breakfast. The food was good and cafe light and airy.
Excellent place to get together for a reunion of former colleagues Requested a quiet table and that was good Very attentive service from Paul and other staff Only one disappointment my open sandwich with salmon came on rather tasteless white bread, others had nice granary bread.
The lunch menu was disappointing, my wife and I found that we had to choose a menu item that was not a preferred choice. On previous visits we were very happy with the menu and were delighted with the dining experience; not this time.
We meet monthly as a group of friends, usually selecting a central venue near bus and train stations. We found the service here very good and the food excellent. The restaurant succeeds in offering some unusual yet very tasty dishes. Unfortunately we found the place very cold and staff explained the temperature was controlled by the Art Gallery and they were unable to do anything about it. Such a pity as this apart, a first class eatery.
