Found this restaurant by surprise, welcoming, helpful and informative young staff, helpful in explaining food Excellent food at a very competitive price, certainly value for money.
We’d eaten at Tuk Tuk Southside’s restaurant and enjoyed the experience so when we passed this one and it was good time.we popped in. The decor was different, this one is more rustic but possibly better for it. Although the menu says that the food will be served when it’s cooked (so it may not arrive in order), everything arrived promptly and as requested. We don’t eat potatoes so this took out a lot of dishes. We had the chicken 69 starter good sized pieces of chicken very good dipping sauce 8/10 Prawns in coconut sauce very good 9/10 mankhi daal with kidney beans a disappointment 3/10 Station Lamb Curry hot and a bit raw but lots of meat and we mixed the daal into the lamb. This cooled the curry but also masked the daal. 7/10 Tuk Tuk would advise you to order 2 3 dishes per person as their portions are based around “street food”. We ordered the 4 dishes plus a Naan and this was more than enough. Would we go again ? Yes and probably double up on the chicken and prawn dishes. Enjoy
It’s simply the best if you want a quick tasty meal. Excellent ingredients well cooked friendly efficient staff. BYOB means you aren’t paying the alcohol premium. The Coop next door must be doing a roaring trade as it’s so convenient. Highly recommended having been many times. It never disappoints.
Well well well, where do I start. I’ve come up to Edinburgh with my friends for a long weekend and fancied Indian food when this restaurant crossed our paths on Google maps. There were lots of unbelievable flavours in the dishes we had, I cannot fault the food. The staff were so friendly and the waitress who served us (sorry I didn’t grab her name) was very welcoming! Would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family if they ever came to Edinburgh.
