Bidrage med feedbackAfter a brisk walk from Waverley Station, we stumbled into this restaurant to escape the Christmas crowds and found ourselves feeling quite hungry. The warm atmosphere was bustling with babies, strollers, friends, and a few office workers glued to their phones, pretending to be Warren Buffet. It was a relaxed place to eat with a great vibe. We enjoyed a huge, delicious Italian pizza cooked just a few meters away in the open kitchen by a friendly and attentive coworker. The pizza was so big it overflowed on the plate and was at least as large as her head. We were so full that we had to take some leftovers home in a doggy bag. Thankfully, there weren't any starters or extras to tempt us further. We washed it all down with a few glasses of Merlot and were ready for anything. The service was excellent and all of this came to just over £40. We will definitely be back.
I decided to check it out. The express lunch menu at Pizza Express offers a variety of tasty dishes for a quick lunch break. For those who enjoy sandwiches, there are piadinas - pizza dough pockets filled with fillings like Italian cold cuts or mozzarella. There are also smaller-sized pizzas, salads, and soups for a lighter option. Sides like polenta chips or rocket salad can be added to the meal. Prices start at £3.45 for soup and go up to £5.95 for the pizza pollo ad astra. Pizza Express on Queensferry Street is the closest location to me. When I used to work in the West End, I would often have lunch or dinner there. It was nice to revisit. We sat in the sunny winter garden, watching people pass by in their coats and scarves. It was one of those lovely Edinburgh spring days - warm inside behind the glass, cold and windy outside. The express lunch concept is designed for those who need a quick yet satisfying meal. It allows you to take a break from work, eat lunch, and get back to your day without spending too much time at the table. It worked for us - we were in and out of the restaurant in 40 minutes, having ordered, eaten, and enjoyed a coffee. I opted for the piadina, a crispy dough pocket filled with salad, mozzarella, and various Italian meats. It was fresh, tasty, and filling. My dining companion had the Veneziana pizza (without sultanas), which was the perfect size for a lunch portion. The menu also offers vegetarian, gluten-free, and light options. Overall, Pizza Express is a great spot for a quick and satisfying lunch. Take a friend, recharge your batteries, and enjoy a meal that won't leave you feeling sluggish in the afternoon.
The pasta is really beautiful with a beautiful combination of smokey meat and cheese. the sticks also contain a light, stretchable cheese coated in broth crumbs. the tiramisu was delicious. beautiful and creamy and they can really taste the coffee in it. Moreover, pizza express allows to order and pay over the app, along with their rewards on it, which is really practical. they can also share the bill on the app. I wish more restaurants would have done that.
On a chilly January evening after a long walk on Prinzessin Street, we were very hungry. We stumbled upon Pizza Expression and the thought of piping hot pizzas intrigued us. The restaurant was bustling with people and had a cozy atmosphere. The service was quick and the food was delicious. I'm happy we decided to stop and eat here.
Pizza was good, most of the staff were lovely but sadly one staff member was walking around dragging her feet and looking like she didn't want to be there. As I say rest of the staff were lovely and I would happily eat here again.
