Large small caffe on the hill. good eating to a great price in a beautiful environment with very friendly and helpful staff. highly recommended.

Perfect for what it is: a cafe with a nice view, drinks and light sandwiches and snacks. Good tea to the table in under two minutes, comfy chairs, and friendly staff. Little off the beaten path too so even during the Fringe it isn't heaving with customers all the time.

I absolutely love this place! The student discount is fantastic, and the sausage roll was packed with filling. The Wi-Fi worked exceptionally well. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff members are very friendly.

We arrived at the café just as the manager was informed that one of the staff members was unwell. Despite this setback, the manager efficiently took our orders, prepared our food, and served us with minimal wait time. Another staff member arrived shortly after, and regular service resumed smoothly. We ordered just one speckrolle and a brew, but the speck was abundant, and the rolls were fresh and delicious. Later in the day, we returned for a tasty muffin and a refreshing beer. The café is tucked away behind a temporary barrier, and its signage is a bit cheeky. It may not be upscale, but it's definitely not as pretentious as some other cafes nearby. Plus, it's conveniently located halfway between Princes Street and the castle, making it a great spot for a quick break.
