Bidrage med feedbackThere with a groupon voucher. the place itself looks funny. service is very slow waiting 40 minutes for two naanwiches. and eating itself is terrible. too much edgy and we both couldn't take more than a few bites. had to leave quite all this eating untouched and went around the corner to king-shear for another meal. will not be back.
I went to eat with my bf. I was thrilled by the interior and the concepts of the restaurant, it is alive. it is packed as it is Saturday night, best recommend to make reservations. we waited for less than 6 minutes and we have our special private cubic with mirror ball above it. we order papadum it was amazing. chicken wings were not cooked as we had to return them. main course were lamm curry, fish curry and discworm mother lamm curry was good. fish curry would be good if they use white fish instead of salmon. paneer murm was not as I expect it to be too watery Indian food is not all about chili! it is about spicy and taste dessert was ok. I like rhabarb with ice. I...read more
Yum! Great bar and food. Relaxed vibe with excellent selection of beer, especially from Williams Bros. curry selection is good as well, something different from the norm with fish, meat and veggie available.
I was given a free lunch for 2 voucher by the lovely people at Zomato, in the end I went along with 6 work girls. My voucher was for the Thali lunch, in the end we all went for that. The Thali consists of 2 curry's, ours were sweet sour lamb and chicken korma, blackpudding pakora, rice, a chapati and mixed pickles. We also got 2 nann to share, no need, one would have done, THEY. ARE. HUGE. Both curry's were gorgeous. Kormas aren't usually my thing but this was so full of flavour, tender chicken, sweetness of coconut, just great. The lamb was also melt in the mouth and I'd happily have both again. The blackpudding pakora was one of the best things I've ever had, I cannot wait to go...read more
The Raj in Blackhall, Edinburgh is one of the best Indian restaurants in the city. Formerly known as the Suburbane Esebistro, it is now owned by Tommy Miah. From the beginning to the end of the meal, everything was excellent. We enjoyed poppadoms, veggie pakora, chicken Vindaloo, mushroom pilau rice, aloo gobi massallam, and naan bread. The staff were very polite and not imposing. A big plus was that the Kingfisher beer was cold. We will definitely return. The only reason for not giving five stars is that the water in the toilet for washing hands was just a trick, but other than that, no complaints.
