Bidrage med feedbackSince I am a guide, I have meaning to visit the flying dog as soon as it opens. finally got the chance to dive with urban traveller on Saturday to try the dogs! since I am a girl with quite simple tastes that I just landed for the lazy dog. Sometimes everything you need is a good bungalow, good sausage and a bit of scorching. it hit the place perfect (especially after a night of camping in the forest) unfortunately it was very quiet when we visited at 5:30 a.m., which was quite a pity as it was lacking in the atmosphere. the personal was really pleasant and even gave me a lolly pop that always makes me happy and the venue itself is simple, but beautiful. in contrast to a lot of American diners that...read more
I heard about this place before I expected nothing other than a great hot dog, and that's exactly what I did! I ordered a top dawg with tomato, swash, jalapenos and louisiana hot sauce. it was good and spicy and just after my taste. emily campbell went for the lazy dog and was also very happy with her. I've made the walk from the old town several times. this time I had the flying dog (hotdog with chili, cheese and jalapeños) with louisiana hot sauce, fries and the flying doggie style pale ale. the place is a bit niche in relation to the menu, but said niche is done, as well as the hotdogs are well made and good worth. the place itself is compact with the expected Yank touches, but fortunately not made obnoxily. the personal is attentive and friendly, which is always good.
Strange place. strange atmosphere and a little pretentious. when I first moved to edinburgh, I thought that brilliant this will be handy, but just very unpleasant.
Still unsure about hot dogs as meals but cleared our plates with ease, it's a great bar though and somewhere we'll be returning back to for drinks soon.
