Ronaq New Waverley - Edinburgh, City of

Have eaten here befiore and it has been much better. Food was OK but one of the dishes was very bland. We had booked in advance at 8pm. It was a busy Saturday night and the service was somewhat strange all night starting with the waiter bringing a single starter. We asked if the others were coming and he rather abruptly said yes. The others then followed a bit strange but ok. The worst was when at 9:10 we were asked if we would leave the table. We still had half of our drinks left and had only just finished eating, 70 minutes after the booking time hardly an age? I feel they were being gready and putting profit before serving the customers already in the restaurant. Maybe the new restaurant was a step too far and they are struggling for staff but I really felt there had to be a manager there with the correct attitude. They all seemed a bit undertrained and all over the place to be honest which is not great as it is not cheap. Won't be going back for a while at least.

The Indian cuisine served here is of an acceptable standard.

As it was NYE only one menu was available which no one mentioned, had to move table twice when the restaurant was not even that busy due staff sitting us down on a small table as asking us to fit in. Service was bad too, aside from our waiter who seemed to be helping everybody no one else helped us. We were sat down moved and then not given menu or plates but had poppadoms. Just not what o expected from other reviews I read online.

We had a family reunion dinner before Christmas at Ronaq. The staff were great, the food was delicious, and we had a pleasant experience overall. It was one of the few places we could find that could accommodate a party of ten guests. Thank you, Ronaq!

Great food very good service at Ronaq, so we will return here.
