We didn't want to wait for an hour at ting thai caravan and were somewhere else on the road when we hit OX184. the decor and atmosphere with the wood fire is cozy and refined, and the service of the staff was wonderful. Unfortunately, it was a bit down. my lamb baby ribs were overwhelmed with a spicy that wasn't entirely hit on the mark, and the chips were sadly tasteless with not a scraped salt. the lamb steak of my partner was mostly well cooked, except to be a bit too raw near the bone, but also was tasty despite the promising butter sauce on the top. Our Beer Man had popped in for an early visit to OX184 when it first opened and been pretty impressed with their beer selection. I’d visited for drinks a couple of times and been overwhelmed with the smoky barbecue aromas from the kitchen but felt the place was still finding its feet. I thought it was about time to give it a visit for food.
