Bidrage med feedbackI went to this restaurant with some friends before heading to the Playhouse. We had reserved a table based on a recommendation from family. The menu had a lot of great choices and the food itself was really tasty. We ordered a Fish Finger sandwich, a Club sandwich, and a Korean sesame chicken burger. We also got some extra chips with our sandwiches. I would definitely recommend this place and would go back again.
I have never written a negative review for any restaurant or hotel before, but I must commend the staff at The Barony for being the first to warrant one. I have never been spoken to so rudely in a pub, or by any member of staff, ever!! Based on the other reviews below, it seems I am not the only one. It is unfortunate as this place used to be a really nice spot to visit. I would suggest going a little further down the hill to The Ox, where you will receive a truly welcoming atmosphere in a neighborhood bar. I will definitely be choosing a different spot for my next outing.
Great place with amazing food and service. The atmosphere was delightful and welcoming, with a fantastic bluegrass/jazz band performing as well.
I visited the Barony yesterday, for the first time in a couple of years. Sadly, it has much changed. To be fair, the beer is as good as it always was (so it gets 2 stars for that, at least), but the attitude of the bar staff was appalling. Not remotely welcoming. In fact quite the opposite, it was border-line insulting. Their website claims A warm welcome awaits ; unfortunately there was no evidence of this when I visited. I will not be returning any time soon.
Good selection of beer but the Sunday lunch was very poor. Luke warm gravy and frozen carrots and Brussels which were inedible. Embarrassed to have taken foreign visitors there.
