Bidrage med feedbackWhether you're looking for a great selection of traditional German or American craft beer in a welcoming biergarten environment or some delicious German delicacies, this is the place! The wurst, schnitzel, spaetzle, potato salad, and kraut were all perfectly cooked and phenomenal. The beer selection is top notch and refreshingly cold. There is plenty of seating inside or out in the biergarten. All the employees we interacted with were helpful and friendly. This was a 5 star experience and we'll definitely be back again.
The food here was shockingly excellent. Most German places that I've been to in this area are frankly mediocre at best. Nearly all of them seem to not be German owned, and feel like a depressing Americanized spin on German food. However, this place was quite the opposite. Not only was the atmosphere and service great, but the food itself was excellent. I ordered the Münchner Schweinhaxe (pork shank, red cabbage, and spätzle) and the dish was superb. The pork shank was falling right off the bone and was incredibly spiced, and the cabbage and spätzle had great, authentic flavor to them. The worst things about the place are really the higher prices (which is understandable for the freshness and quality of the food, I suppose) and the location. I know I did order a special, but a lot of the other entrees aren't cheap either. Old Stein Inn is also pretty out of the way, and isn't near anything that you can walk around or go to afterwards. While I didn't order a beer, my father did order one on tap and said that it was very fresh; the service was excellent and very friendly as well. If you're looking for authentic German food in the area, I highly recommend this restaurant!
So many great food and beer options here! the pretzel beer cheese, delicious potato pancakes, wurst platte, and schnitzels are routine faves! And a nice crowler (growler in a can! Eat outside, inside, or takeaway the service is always 5 !
Loved the food, vibes and staff. Excellent service and wonderful food. We tried to keep it as German as possible with our orders and loved it. The sausages were awesome and so were the fries. Absolutely loved it.
When done right German food can hit, and at Old Stein Inn, it hits. My wife and I went for the first time recently after a few years in the area and were sickened in that we hadn’t been before. Great restaurant set up exactly how it should be for being German themed. The food was great, the red cabbage paired very well with the schnitzel and the apple strudel was amazing. Highly recommend when you’re in the area.
