Bidrage med feedbackI recently organized a family lunch for over 30 relatives at the Verandah restaurant at the hotel. It was a huge success, bringing together family members from across the UK and even Switzerland, some of whom hadn't seen each other in years. The communication with the staff leading up to the event was excellent, with one particular staff member providing sterling support and advice. This ensured that everything went smoothly on the day of the lunch. The hotel provided a board and extra tables for displaying family photos and artifacts, a coat rack, storage for overnight guests, and a clear seating plan. The guests felt very welcomed by the hotel and the staff, complimenting the venue, restaurant, bar, and the quality of the food served. The waiting staff and other hotel personnel were very helpful. After the lunch, there was plenty of time for the guests to mingle, chat, and enjoy teas and coffees provided by the hotel. It was a delightful and happy occasion, made even better by the great hospitality we experienced. Thank you.
My husband gifted me a voucher for afternoon tea for two at the York Hotel for my birthday last year. The waiter who served us was very professional and helpful. Despite looking forward to it, we had a long journey, got stuck in traffic, and struggled to find parking, making us an hour late. I called ahead to inform them of our delay. I was hoping for more variety in the sandwich and cake selection. We each had one and a half sandwiches, which we had to cut and share. The sandwiches, featuring ham, tomato, and cheese pickle, were a bit bland for an afternoon tea. One slice of bread was hard. The cakes included a scone, which was delicious, a small chocolate brownie, and a lemon muffin that I did not enjoy. I have had afternoon teas with more fillings and a better selection of cakes in the past. The waiter offered a wide range of hot drinks. I felt that the experience was not worth the effort and wished I had spoken up to the waiter, who was very nice. I would appreciate some feedback on this. I believe we should have received more sandwich fillings and a greater variety of cakes. I left feeling disappointed and felt like the voucher was wasted. Sincerely, Mrs. D
I went for afternoon tea at this restaurant and unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience. When we arrived, they couldn't find our booking even though we had received a confirmation. We were taken to the bar area where our table was not set up, even though we were the only customers there. After placing our tea and coffee order, the table was quickly prepared and the afternoon tea was brought out shortly after. For the price of around £18 per person, the portion size was very small - six small sandwiches, two scones, and four tiny cakes. While the scones and cakes were tasty, the overall quantity did not justify the cost. I have been to many afternoon teas before and this was the most disappointing one I have had. Despite the restaurant being rated three stars, I believe that if you are paying £18 for afternoon tea, it should be better value for money. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
Bad service and bad food. It took 45 minutes for the bread to arrive. 55 minutes for 2 fair meals and 2 awful meals.
A very easy place to eat. A nice atmosphere. Menu is good considering covid and current restrictions.
