Bidrage med feedbackWe have always enjoyed our lunches at The Potting Shed, but yesterday left us feeling disappointed. We had often seen what looked like delicious fish and chips on Fridays, but unfortunately, our experience did not live up to our expectations. The meal looked good, except for a shortage of chips, but the batter on the fish was raw when we removed it, which seems to be the norm in Bridlington. It is unacceptable for this to be considered quality. The only place within a 10-mile radius of Bridlington that gets it right is Seamer Fisheries, with their light, crispy, and properly cooked fish. The fish fryers in Bridlington should consider visiting and training with them. Despite this disappointing experience, we will still visit The Potting Shed, but we won't be risking the fish and chips again.
I have visited this restaurant many times, but not recently. I was disappointed during my last visit. The prices have increased, with a small bottle of Fanta orange costing £2.95. Despite my mum not eating much, we requested the fish on its own without chips or peas, but were still charged the full price of £11.99. My dad commented that the fish was not very good. The chips appeared to be cheap frozen ones, pale and dry. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to The Potting Shed.
My husband treated me to lunch at this restaurant. We both opted for the fish and chips, which turned out to be an excellent choice. The batter was crispy and light, the fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. The portion size was generous, served with chips and mushy peas. I highly recommend this dish!
Have eaten here before it seems to have gone downhill. Our meals came quickly almost too quickly. Plates cold, meat lukewarm and over cooked parsnips and carrots. The Yorkshire puddings cold in the middle. Very disappointed. Paid at the beginning so no recompense.
A great selection of specials in a nice cool restaurant. Just what we needed on a melting hot day. Thanks
