Ostrich Inn - East Riding of Yorkshire

We had booked a table for Boxing Day lunch and arrived after a muddy walk with our dog. The owner was very accommodating and found us a great table at the busy pub. The service was excellent and the pub had everything you would expect, including an open fire, a variety of real ales, and top-notch service. Our lunch, especially the specials, was fantastic. We will definitely be returning.

The food and drinks were excellent, service was great. The ambiance was very interesting with a warm and pleasant atmosphere. We celebrated my husband's birthday and had a fantastic meal. Highly recommend.

Excellent pub and food. Eleven of us visited this pub for some lunch after completing a hike as part of a walking group. We hadn’t booked but were warmly greeted and given menus. We ordered various different meals which arrived together. Dietary requirements were no problem, especially for celiacs. The food was delicious. It’s a characterful 13th century pub with an open fire and warm atmosphere. I would definitely recommend.

Came her with friends. wasn’t expecting much but I was too quick to judge. The food was excellent, decent size portions at an even more decent price. The evening had a nice flow to it, in a traditional pub. Also the drinks selection was superb

When Kathryn was running the Ostrich and doing the cooking we used to go a long way out of our way to eat there as her dishes were superb, especially the smokies and the delicious risottos/risotti. It was our favourite and we were very sad to learn that Kathryn passed away last year. We visited earlier this year hoping that her recipes would have been passed on and still available, but sadly the cuisine is now bang-average pub-grub by comparison. Reluctantly crossed this one off our list.
