Canton House - East Renfrewshire

I absolutely adore this little hidden gem in Barrhead. While it may not be fancy, the traditional Chinese decor adds to its charm. The food is absolutely delicious, and they offer a pre-theatre deal on Saturdays for £12.95. Mary, the waitress, is incredibly friendly and helpful. My favorite part is that dining in costs the same as getting takeout, but the service and lack of dishes to clean up at home make it well worth the visit. It's a nice and relaxing experience every time we come here.

I visited this restaurant on Saturday, February 18th. We arrived at 6:45pm and waited for an hour for our starters: soup and vegetable rolls. By 8:10pm, our mains still hadn't arrived, so we decided to leave. The staff charged us the full amount even though we had to leave early for a concert. The starters were cold and it took almost an hour and a half to receive them. Throughout the night, the waitress avoided us and provided no explanation for the delay. Another couple arrived after us and were served and finished their meal before we even received our mains. I will not be returning to this restaurant due to the cold and non-existent food and terrible service. I suggest avoiding this place.

I ordered the orange duck, and even though the portion was small, it tasted amazing. I also appreciated that the orange sauce came separately.

It's been some time since I have used this restaurant. The takeaway menu is extensive and the prices were good. It was certainly an enjoyable meal and the staff were very friendly as well.
