Bidrage med feedbackThe Old Clubhouse change their menu seasonally so visited to check it out. As usual the offerings are varied, creative, plentiful and delicious and are supplemented by specials which are wonderful too. In addition to a fantastic meal of sharing plates, the service remains friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming. On this particular night there was live music which amped up the vibe to an even more fantastic and fun evening for many very happy locals and visitors.
First visit last Thursday and was excellent. Nice welcoming staff and food and service were very good. An old styled restaurant with loads of artefacts and stuffed animals which is very quaint. Toilet like something from the starship enterprise though Will be back next year
The Old Clubhouse is traditionally our first stop for dinner in Scotland. The restaurant is an eclectic collection of local memorabilia. The menu has expanded over years, but I must start with their fish and chips which are fabulous. The soups, appetizers and desserts are also delicious
Perfect table, perfect meal, perfect service...what does one want more? The highlight is the Cullen skink., A fish soup made of smoked haddock, leek and potatoes. A creamy delicious comfort food. We'll booked for a second time!
This has been our local for many years but the quality of the food and service has sadly gone very downhill. We ordered a bottle of wine which was literally thrown onto our table with our glasses without a word from the teenage server. My wife's fish and chips was good and I had the sirloin steak special. My steak was cooked medium rare as requested but was a very poor cut of meat, it was sinewey and very chewy, I left more than half of it. Our plates then sat in front of us for a good 20 minutes whilst some of the staff appeared to be engrossed with their friends and at no point were we asked if the meal was ok. Sadly, it just appears this once fantastic place is just going downhill (this is not just based on today) with a general decline in the quality of food and standards of service not to mention the complete lack of interest in whether or not the food was any good. Pity.
