Bidrage med feedbackWe were brought to this incredible restaurant while visiting our friends who have relocated to Louth. It was a fantastic evening. The 10 courses we had were all unique and delicious. Our group was seated in a private room, making us feel like royalty. The staff was excellent, timing their service perfectly - taking our orders, serving each dish, and clearing the table. The wine was reasonably priced. We will definitely come back when we are in the area again.
I had a wonderful dining experience at a picturesque restaurant. The staff were friendly and attentive. I ordered the vegetarian taster menu, while my friend opted for the meat menu. Although it was advertised as 7 courses, the chef surprised us with 12 delicious dishes. Be sure to save room for dessert, as the chocolate fondant was divine. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you are in the area.
We booked last minute and were a bit hesitant as we were unfamiliar with Louth, but what a pleasant surprise! The charming building is equipped with a unique selection of retro furniture. Our group of 4 had our own private dining room with a view of the beautiful garden. The staff was incredibly attentive, friendly, and helpful. The food was excellent, priced at £25 per person for 2 courses and coffee, which was a steal for the quality. I especially enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the fact that we could bring our dog into the private dining area. If we lived closer, we would definitely become regulars. There is also parking available right outside, which is an added bonus.
We ate at Serendipity in late November 2021. A table had been set in a separate dining area just for the two of us. It had been set with all of the cutlery and glasses placed to perfection on a lovely polished table. Although we...had expected 7 courses I think we actually had 9. Each course was well presented and I believe one had been specifically designed for us based on the local produce that I had discussed earlier with Paul, the manager and chef. All courses tasted superbly. We both thoroughly enjoyed them all. I must also mention the staff who served us with the food and drinks. They were really good and attended to all of our needs. In summary this is one not to be missed if you visit Louth.
Overall the concept is great! The Serendipity is staffed by special people providing jobs for people with learning difficulties, in a quirky setting serving local seasonal food! The charm of the place is let down my the menu and not to sound sexist.. but...‘a woman’s touch’ when comes to detail and toilets! Food wise,.. Just a lot of dishes one after another… not tasting menu! Although local products and cooked correctly, felt the menu was poorly constructed and uncomplimentary! Lacked fluidity! Nothing to tantalize the taste buds (Amuse-Bouche just straight in with a hot ‘heavy’ meat ball dish! Felt full directly! No time or cleanse pallet before moving from meat to fish dish! Serving shell for dish 2 was too small so food fell on to the table when trying to eat! Inelegant! Lost excitement for following dishes quickly.. just felt like “holy ****, more food!’ Had to say stop and refuse another corse after so much protein over and over! Each dish separately was very tasty! Dessert lacked inspiration! Squirty cream .. wtf!? Why take time make a tasting menu to finish with that! Would probably work better classic menu style rather than ‘tasting menu’ due to lack of flow and badly designed order of dishes… Felt like I was paying for a lot of food rather than exquisite meal! Serving staff lovely, owner somewhat ignorant!
