Bidrage med feedbackDon't be fooled by the appearance of this place. It is a hidden gem for dining and is also dog-friendly. The menu is extensive and offered at a great price. They even have a special meat mash and gravy option for dogs. My t-bone steak was cooked perfectly and my partner's dish was also excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant for its delicious food.
Even though the exterior of this small pub may not seem like much, the interior is cozy and inviting. A major plus was that it was dog-friendly throughout the entire establishment. There were plenty of options on the menu and the food was generously portioned, delicious, and reasonably priced. We ended up visiting twice during our stay in the area and had a great experience both times.
The steak was delicious and visually appealing, it was so good we had to take a photo. The triple cooked chips were a hit and my mum enjoyed her shepherd's pie while my dad was satisfied with his liver and onion dish. Overall, everyone left the restaurant happy.
Tired roadside village pub. Friendly staff Sunday lunch carvery was disappointing but we did have a late 3pm booking. The vegetables were sadly processed which in the height of summer and a glut of produce was really sad. Peas, sliced carrots, a cheesy leek mixture and watery cabbage, the meat however, was very good and fresh although a little dry
We have passed this pub many times and decided to go on Sunday 3rd September for the carvery. There was a lovely choice of vegetables, roast potatoes, mash potatoes, roast parsnips, cabbage, carrots, peas, leeks in cheese sauce, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire pudding and stuffing. A choice of meats, turkey, beef, gammon and pork. I am a turkey kinda girl, my friend had a bit of each and my partner went with beef and pork. We all thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday carvery. It was £9.99 on a Sunday with, I think it is cheaper in the week We sat outside as the weather was lovely and we had the dog with us, although dogs are also allowed inside. This pub also offers a meal for the dog. Meat, mash and gravy £2.50. We didn't bother as our dog is that fussy, didn't know if he would eat it. The food was that nice we went back again today, Monday 4th September for tea. Only me and my partner today and we both went for the griddled chicken breast (it was huge) in herbs with vegetables, choice of potatoes (chips, mash, new potatoes or jacket potato) and a choice of mushroom sauce or cheese sauce £10.90. Again we couldn't fault the food. We will be going back as I intend to work my way through the menu. It really is worth giving it a try if you are looking for somewhere to eat
