Agava - East Ithaca

This place has a great menu and accommodates vegetarian and gluten free customers. We had a large party of 12 and everyone was more than satisfied. We had margaritas, apps, entrees and dessert. My son had the chocolate cake and says it was awesome. My niece, Rubyz,, took the pics for this review. I highly reccomend if you are in the mood for good food and a light hearted atmosphere.

From the chips to the entree, the meal was a complete disappointment. Unseasoned chips that were cold and definitely not made in house, at least not to order. I got the cauliflower steak and it was a joke. It was barely cooked and flavorless not even a sauce. The bean puree it was on was cold. The roasted carrots on top were greasy and nowhere near roasted, they were steamed. For $18 I expect a lot more. Got a side of the local potatoes and they were gummy and gross.

Subpar culinary experience but decent drinks. Better options around town at a similar price point. Servers are inexperienced but eager to please.

Great place to dine in and take out. Have been here several times while visiting the area and it's always nice to try new dishes based on what's in season. Can't go wrong with any of their mixed drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Staff is friendly and we never feel out of place even though we aren't locals.
