The reality was a dirty, stinking, no air set room. Shaped in the fridge, only one sheet on our queen bed in a very small room (and the manager at the service gave me grief about the demand for a second sheet). We asked for our money back and didn't stay the 2nd night. The refund was promised and promised, but we haven't received it yet. Here's the worst part. 6 weeks ago (a whole year after the first fee) they have charged my credit card another $571. This was not authorized at all — only simple credit card fraud. I work with my credit card to get the money back. If it happened to me, it might have happened to others who never got their refunds.
In April 2022, We booked 3 nights at Dancing Bears Inn via Expedia, and for personal reason we cancelled the trip in June. We were promised that we will receive full refund, we even got an email from Expedia that we would receive the refund from the Inn. But since September we never have refunds. We tried to call and mail the Inn but got no answer. We are looking for TripAdvisor and found that there are many complaints about not being refunded.
There was absolutely nothing we liked about this motel. At check in, we were told we’d been upgraded to a cabin. The ‘cabin’ was a small house across town. The carpet was dirty and had large stains. There was a semi-wet load of towels in the washing machine, no dryer available through. The Tv didn’t work and Wi-Fi wasn’t available. So, we drove back to the office and we were given a ‘hot spot’ device to use to watch the tv and use Wi-Fi. After messing around with it, unsuccessfully, I noticed a message that said all the GB’s had been used and wouldn’t reset for 2.5 weeks. So, back to the office where there was now a room available at the motel. We packed up and moved to the motel. Still no TV or Wi-Fi. My husband needed to work so they let him connect to their Office Wi-fi. The first person we worked with, I think she was the manager, really tried to help us out. She was a sweetheart. 2nd Night clerk, not so much. The list amenities listed on the site where we booked are not available at this hotel. There isn't a Free Breakfast or even a restaurant onsite as indicated in the listing. There are NONE of the following: Coffee shop, Business center, 24-hr front desk, playground, Trampoline, Children’s Games, Toys, Art Supplies, Children’s Books, golf, active TV to name a few. This should be a 1 Star hotel at the maximum. This was a total disappointment. We stayed at the end of the season but this was the most expensive place we stayed by 2 times. My advice: Don't. Just don't.
There are two signs in town both of which say tripleA approved. I checked triple A online and dancing bears nor any other place in East Glacier village has triple A rating status. The facility is very dated and far from meeting triple A standards at the present time. The location is prime. Unfortunately that is the most positive comment about the place. The following is a list of issues we had: 1. Not all electric outlets worked 2. No blow dryer was available 3. Housekeeping was haphazard since garbage was it was not picked up daily 4. The remote was not matched to television so certain functions were not able to be done. 5.The refrigerator and microwave were stacked on a table where there was a closet rod that could not be used. 6.There was coffee pot but no coffee and tea were available. 7. There was allegedly a free breakfast in the office but we never saw it because the office was closed until 10 am. By that time most people would have been gone. 8. There was no bath mat provided so we had to use a towel to step out of the tub. 9. The staff provided a blow dryer which did not work and no other was provided. 10. The mattress was old without much support. 11. There was no telephone. 12. The decor was dated and hodgepodged. 13. The staff did not give us an explanation when we asked what the scream was we heard at 6:30 am one morning. 14. The air conditioner was in the bathroom and there was no clue what was on the other side. We left one day earlier than planned since we were able to find a better place for our last night in Glacier. Basically the place needs significant remodeling to upgrade the electricity and better utilize the space.
Booked this hotel since i was staying at east glacier travelling solo. The location is in a town that looks run down. They charge way too much for what is essentially a run down hotel with dilapidated rooms. I have no idea how they got so many good reviews. I only needed to stay for 4 hours since i got in late and had to leave super early the next day otherwise i would have immediately gone somewhere else. Not a safe spot especially for solo female travelers.
