The Sidmouth Arms - East Devon

That is the second time that I was disappointed in eating at the sidmouth arms in upottery devon. the first time was back in juli 2022. when we visited to celebrate our up and upcoming daughter high-time with friends and family. this time we went... with the local book club of my wife. at the arrival we had a greeting from our friends who arrived before us on Friday, December 2nd 2022. we had a good time with predinner

We always visit the sidmouth arms when we are in upottery. eating is consistently good pub food in reasonable for large portions, the decorations are usually pub, but the tables are more at a distance than many pubs. this time it was eating. exceptional

Really nice place to celebrate with the family. we were in a recently decorated room perfect for big meeting. very friendly and helpful staff. good value.

We visited early Wednesday evening for a holiday meal, we were before place and last year found the place very nice especially eating. Unfortunately, we haven't had the same experience yesterday. the fish and sprinkle meal of my wife was very poor. with the stars on the teller who are inherited! the fish was cooked so that it was oily outside and as for the chips most of them were cooked on a customs of their life almost as the dregs of the friier. my leber and speck was underwhelming and could benefit from some nice to accompany the maische. it is a shame when in these current times, in which a meal is a tasty and hospitable is supposed to be under pressure that a bit attentiveness to the detail would make the difference. the fishmeal were removed from the bill, but that always makes the dinge right. my wife later enjoyed her sweetheart.

Lovely pub, food was great, apart from the chips, these need to improve. The pub was busy which was nice to see in these uncertain times, this created a nice atmosphere for the evening.
