Hallgarth Manor Country - Durham

Would be highly recommended to stay here. a few problems with the teeth, but overall very helpful and friendly staff. Accommodation, eating and drinking were before place.

Went for the carvery yesterday, absolutely perfect plate of food, everything fresh and hot and tasty naughty amount of butter in the mashed potato and a healthy serving of meat. Only sorry that I couldn't have eaten more of it soooo full! Booking in advance highly recommended as we had to eat in lounge when a table would have been better. I did ring but was assured that it wasn't busy x

Me and my husband celebrated our wedding at Hallgarth manor the week before Christmas, it was nothing short of amazing! The hotel has recently been refurbished to a very high standard, making for a lovely setting for our big day, everything about the day went extremely smooth with no hitches whatsoever. The staff were all lovely and helpful, but a big shout out to Kelly the wedding coordinator, what an absolute star! She couldn’t do enough for us, and always seemed to be in the right place at the right time, even appearing from nowhere to hold my dress when I needed to be outside . The food was delicious, both the wedding breakfast and the evening buffet, our guests couldn’t compliment it enough. And to top it off we even got our picture took with Santa! . Thanks again to all the staff at Hallgarth Manor, we truly had the best day of our lives!!

Had a lovely late lunch and a drink in The Tavern today. The food was spot on well worth the money and the service was great too- Leigh made sure we were well looked after! Will definitely be back soon!

Stayed here last night for our 20th wedding anniversary, we held our wedding reception at the Hallgarth Manor on 1st August 1998! When I contacted the hotel saying I'd like to arrange the stay as a surprise for my husband, they kindly offered us a discount on our room. The special treatment did not stop there, we had a bottle of fizz delivered to our room and were served bucks fizz with our breakfast this morning. The staff could not have been more welcoming and all made us feel very special. The food was amazing and the hotel is stunning since the recent renovations. We stayed in the fabulous Sanctuary Suite. If we were getting married now, I would choose the Hallgarth Manor all over again and we hope to be back soon. Thank you so much xx
