Mcnamara's Pub Eatery - DuPont

We stopped in to get a quick bite and a couple of drinks and everything pretty much was okay. We ordered a couple of appetizers a burger meal a couple of beers and a **** mary. although the mary came with a nice garnish it was bland despite being heavily rimmed with straight table salt. I declined to order a second drink and opted for water instead. I ordered a plate of fries and although they looked good, they were lukewarm and kinda mushy. The tater tots and the burger meal were much better. We must have been there during the shift change because after the waitress dropped off our food we never saw her again. The waitress that took over for her finished up with us and was fairly attentive for the remainder of our stay.

While the atmosphere and service were good, the food was substandard. I asked for a medium cooked burger, and it came out very greasy and overcooked (beyond well done). The teriyaki chicken sandwich was sloppy, and the chicken tasted like it was overthawed just from the freezer. If I was going for drinks and small bits, this restaurant would be fine, but I would not recommend it for a meal.

It felt like a pretty nice bar experience. The food was better than a typical bar but the style was the same—burgers, fish and chips, and other fried foods. Found a super suspect fork and brought it back to the server. She was great the whole time and apologized but didn’t offer to take anything off the bill. Not necessary, but it would’ve been a nice act given what you’re seeing here. The lavender drink was strong so that was a huge plus. The black and white (two-tone beer) was more visually neat than anything. It tasted entirely like a regular Guinness—which was okay. The biggest let down was the fiery Irishman (burger) because it wasn’t at all spicy. The quality of all the food was great but I was super disappointed. It was a good, regular burger. Overall, everyone else left happy. I left disappointed but not upset. There’s a lot here that people will like but look elsewhere for a good, SPICY burger. I think we’ll try again.

Great service, great food and a nice atmosphere. Pug burger was 10/10. We'll definitely be back if we're in the neighborhood again.

Talk about amazing pub meals, this local eatery packs a punch in the pasta!! Mama Mac has the best spicy chicken mac and cheese hands down. The portions are great and the bread is a great savory bite too. My lemon drop has a twist unlike no other. The spacious seating is awesome for a large party or something quiet and peaceful for a table for one. The bar area offers a wide selection of drafts and unique spirits. Austin the bartender was pleasant and friendly. Can’t wait to return and try some other meals.
