Bidrage med feedbackI discovered this small hidden gem while visiting Samye Ling Temple. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for delicious home-cooked meals.
I absolutely adore the atmosphere at The Hub, a fantastic community-run café that is spacious, incredibly welcoming, and staffed with friendly employees. I have had lunch at The Hub numerous times and the service is always top-notch, with a fantastic variety of cakes and scones, including vegan and gluten-free options. The meals are delicious, well-presented, and there is always a great selection of dishes available, including a vegetarian option. It's the perfect spot to grab a bite after a yoga class, which is conveniently held upstairs at The Hub. Additionally, The Hub hosts themed cuisine evenings, from tapas to Greek food, with local musicians dropping by to entertain guests. I've heard rave reviews about their Sunday roasts as well, with a vegetarian option always on offer. The Hub is truly a hidden gem, run by passionate individuals who truly care about their community.
I stopped by for a coffee and cake and I couldn't have been happier. This charming little café has friendly and helpful staff. I ordered a cappuccino and even though I'm not a coffee connoisseur, it was absolutely delicious. It really warmed my soul. This café is a gem for those who appreciate the simple pleasures in life. It's unpretentious and cozy, with no room for snobby individuals. I will definitely be returning here in the future! Next time, I might even bring a book and sit outside in the sunshine with a fantastic cup of coffee.
We passed through on our way to visit Samye Ling and were welcomed warmly by the staff and volunteers. The place was immaculate this is the heart of a community that genuinely cares about its visitors and we felt like nothing was too much trouble. We are vegetarians and the options were delicious. We are planning a cycling tour next May and this little gem in the heart of a unique part of Scotland is definitely for a revisit. Thank you from us
We had a six day stay in Eskdalemuir in August, staying at the fabulous Dark Skies Pod up a winding trail in the Pine forest. The Hub certainly was a true highlight of our holiday! After driving for hours we had a warm welcome from Lara who was keen to help us make the most of our stay and share ideas of what might be of interest in the local area and info about how to get there etc. The cafe was a very welcoming environment with a great selection of hot and cold food. The home made vegetarian curry was a hit with my teenager, the quiche was also lush and for me the soft malted fresh bread with good servings of cheese and tasty ham and freshly made coleslaw made for a really enjoyable sandwich (had to have same again the next day! the bonus was the invitation to top up our plates from the fresh salad bar which was great! Some of the team are volunteers who give their time to support the community and they were all so happy to share ideas about how to make the most of our holiday. There is a car park just across the road which made life easy. The toilets were clean. The rear area had fab outdoor seating with lovely views of the countryside and a cheeky peacock! Love this place and the friendly team of staff and volunteers! We will be back next year and will certainly stay for a roast dinner and I hope the courgette and lime cake is on the menu as it was divine! Thank you
