Black Horse Inn - Dudley

Looked nice from the outside, and pleasant interior, with a fire place and TV. Staff were initially friendly. Food was OK, although our starters were greasy (cauliflower wings, mushrooms and calamari, all in batter). My partner couldn't finish his. Mains were OK, although the chips were dry, and once again, the scampi in batter was greasy. There seemed to be pressure to get our mains ordered as they stop serving at 8pm. Afterwards, we stayed on for a couple of drinks and it felt that as closing time approached, we were being pressured to leave as we were getting looks from the bar staff and what appeared to be their teenage friends, which made us feel uncomfortable. When we finally left, the door was bolted very firmly and noisily behind us, presumably by the owner, an elderly lady, no goodbye, which we felt was very rude. The only positive thing about this experience was that they allow dogs, so we made a fuss of them and chatted with their owners. We won't be coming back!

Pub was empty stuck in a corner with 2 under 3s keeping them up there very hard! Travelered 3 and half hours for a family meal to be served the most dry food going! All the food wasn't served together as a table of 10 for my birthday and then to moan and then for the manger to push it round with her finger was disgusting! That the salom was not dry when it **** was! Also I felt like the fringe didn't have no customer service skills at all! Oh and for children's meals missed out the sausages and it was cold whe arrived

Great staff , lovely food , nice busy atmosphere, food was served in a timely manner and staff were lovely and polite

Absolutely amazing food, quality service pudding are also incredible. Wished I was on its door step so I could go for a pint more !! Staff are lovely people.

With the reviews I wasn’t sure what to expect!! But hey usual pub grub, cooked well and presented as all sizzler pub grub is. Friendly staff, busy but pleasant atmosphere .., so all in all not bad at all
