Bidrage med feedbackThis time TA was right, as this quaint café located at a plant nursery on the outskirts of Drummondville was truly delightful. Guests have the option to dine inside to escape the heat and smoky air from nearby fires in Ontario, in the greenhouse if it's too warm outside, or in the garden. Inside, there is a specialty shop offering a variety of local Quebecois products with exotic flavors, many of which are locally produced organically and related to plants and flowers. The café serves breakfast until 10 a.m. and lunch until 5 p.m., with freshly prepared dishes made to order. We enjoyed sandwiches - my wife had salmon on olive ciabatta and I had grilled local cheese with cranberries - which came with a choice of soup or salad. We opted for the salads, which were all delicious. Frederique, the server/cashier, was charming.
My family of five stopped for lunch on our way to Quebec City and the atmosphere at the restaurant was great. My chevre, walnut, and honey sandwich was amazing, and the salad was tasty as well. However, my husband's BLT sandwich was missing lettuce and the bacon was not real. Additionally, we never received two of the salads we ordered for our children's meals. When I told our server that we were still waiting for the salads, she acknowledged it but never returned with them. In the end, we paid $40 for two sandwiches, a salad, and three juice boxes. We were left feeling disappointed, unsure if language barriers were a factor in the mix-up.
Stopped here with the grand-children for a quick healthy lunch after the holiday eating orgy. Good food in a pleasant and relaxed setting with enough to keep the kids amused while we waited for our lunch. The food and condiments for sale are not what you find in the supermarket, much more intriguing and out of the ordinary. We also picked up fresh cherry tomatoes and some Labanese cucumbers as well as a baguette. Prices are not cheap but everything is fresh and tasty.
Off the highway, ordinary from the outside but very pleasantly surprised on the inside. Delicious array of lunch options with courteous, friendly staff. A unique array of products, interesting gifts and a florist shop. Clean, well maintained toilets. Great road side stop before hitting Montreal traffic.
Food was excellent. I suggest if you don't speak or read French, you look at the menu on their web-site and translate. I had the smoked salmon on a chibatta bun, because some one else had made a comment and good review about it. Otherwise, I didn't have a clue, lol
