Jade Mar - Drake Bay

Jade was so nice and made our stay in Drake so amazing! We were well taken care of and would come back every time we visit. The air conditioning was also great! We stayed in one of the cabanas which offered a fantastic view over the main beach. I can definitely recommend coming to this charming place :

The owner Menar went above and beyond! We were a last minute booking when our original housing fell through and she found us a room and continued to help give advice and resources through out our stay. Rooms were very clean, had AC, and kitchen was well kept. Great experience and would recommend!

The staff is very kind, and can help you with everything. All you have to do is ask! We had a room with a very nice view. It can become a little hot in the room (like everywhere else in Costa Rica), but we had 2 fans in the room, which is more than sufficient.

We planned for 3 nights but left after 2 as for the noise of the near disco. Moreover, the windows in the room were fixed and could not open them and the toilet had an open window with just a net so we could not even reduce the noise of the disco. The water kettle was dirty with black encrustations. Moreover, we didn’t like Drake bay as it is rather a slum place than the isolated paradise that people are claiming.

We had a lovely stay in a cabin for two. The porch looked out over Drake Bay and it was the perfect spot to enjoy sunset, especially with the resident birds, including scarlet macaws. Henar was so welcoming and helpful. She met us at the beach where the boat drops you and arranged a car to take us up to the cabin. She also helped arrange our tour of Corcovado National Park, which was excellent. All in all, I highly recommend Casa Jade. The only reason I've given 4 stars instead of 5 is that the mattress sagged in the middle, which made sleeping a little uncomfortable. And the shared kitchen is on the small side. But minor complaints.
