Barrelman's Room - Downers Grove

I brought a crew of golfers for an amazing meal and drinks. The staff was also great!

Barrelman's room has so much potential. At the moment it misses the sign. Not that it is a bad place; it's not. But the devil is in the details. What does something that is only good in something really big is found at the edges, the little things. Barrleman's not quite here. The place is wonderful for a whisky spokesman. Little, rather dark, woody. Even the entrance door is a secret. But once in the first thing we noticed, was the loud clubby music. In a whiskey bar? Even holiday music as it was a few weeks before Christmas. But not what we heard. Do we have to have so many TVs in such a small place? The whisky selections were good and varied as they should be, although some of my choices were not in stock. The menu should not be Typos (Higland Park instead of Highland Park) and especially the owners should know the difference between whisky and whisky. The one with the e is from Ireland or America, and the other is from Scotland. A whiskey bar should note this on the menu. The menu is simple, and this is good, but could there be any pub mix, a cheese plate, even chocolate on the menu? These are classic food pairings for good whisky or bourbon. Barrelman 's has the right foundation, but it seems that those who stop the idea with the idea and forget the details, forget to bring the sophistication that comes with a good whisky facility. Shake the approach and that would be a wonderful place. For the true whisky lover, Barrelman's does not rise completely.

Barrelman's Room is my place on a Friday or Saturday night if I want delicious cocktails and cozy ambience so I can talk to my friends who listen to each other. It is usually quite easy to get a table, the staff is helpful with recommendations and I love the secret feeling of it. I recommend it to anyone who wants a night without a long line or wait. You will not be disappointed!

This is supposed to be a cocktail bar. They don’t have large ice cubes and ran out of key agreements at 8pm on a Friday.....need to work on ordering and be ready for a Friday night.

Love the ambiance of this tucked away bar. Drinks are kinda pricey but really good. Owner needs to invest in the large bourbon ice cubes to make their drink selection legit. Definitely worth a visit!
