Bidrage med feedbackThe Intercontinental Hotel in Double Bay is the epitome of luxury, as a five star hotel, with a stellar rooftop and rooms to match it sits in one of Sydney’s flashiest suburbs. The complex is home to many a restaurant including the recently launched Mr G’s, a New York Bar Grill. The restaurant boasts an authentic American charcoal grill, which it uses to cook all of its meat helping to produce perfectly cooked meat, and create that enchanting mouth-watering juiciness across its selection of steaks.
Bianca: We’ve held a certain fascination for the Intercontinental in Double Bay since they reopened in 2014, Alex essentially lives his life as a Real Housewife of (insert city) so we’re always on the hunt for new and exciting openings in Sydney and Oz wide. Attached to the Intercontinental and just opposite Sake, is Mr G’s. A contemporary take on a New York steakhouse and owned by the Gallagher hotel group, hence the name. I currently have a Mister Gee’s in my life… so let’s just see if I have room for another.
It's hard to not be impressed as you enter Mr G’s, with its New York speakeasy bar vibe laced with family and sports memorabilia, it is easy to see why Mr G’s is buzzing. Being deceptively large with its many booths and seats at the bar, it caters for those looking for fine dining as well as those looking for a casual drink. The intimate surroundings and plush leather booth seating, are well shielded from the bright walkway of Mr G’s home inside the Intercontinental Hotel, needless to say both The Viscount and Viscountess were eager to begin.
@mrgsdoublebay X @pendulumcommunications <br/ 400 DAY, 7+ MS, TAJIMA, WAGYU X HOLSTEIN w/ POTATO GRATIN AND CHOICE OF SAUCE <br/ <br/ Hands down the best steak I've ever eaten in my life. Easily. But at $90 you'd want it to be. Cooked beautifully medium rare and rested nicely. This was like butter in my mouth. Or edible sex. The neat little gratin on the side was a good plate filler, I recommend the greens as well even though I didn't order them. An excellent wine list to pair with a great lunch or dinner steak too <br/
Stumbled upon this little gem while taking a walk with the missus and little one. Very cosy, vintage and surprisingly baby friendly! Yes, we had a 9month old and they were extremely accommodating. Food was a delight! We had the oysters, chicken wings and shoe string fries with truffle cheese for starters. They were fresh, crispy and really amazing! For mains we had the short ribs. It was the perfect fusion cooked to perfection! Soft, succulent and tasty beef paired with corn, Spanish onions and zucchini. Will definitely be back!
