Schlosskaffee - Dornbirn

Charming and deserved awards for the employees and owners. family-run café and world-class chocolate shop....in house sweetware. my favorite outside the Swiss.

We sat outside in this beautiful cafe ristorante in the beautiful central piazza highems. the quality of food is exceptional. friendly service. it is worth a visit.

For me, these were the most stylish caffes in the five small towns Vorarlbergs I recently visited. it is located on the quite large and pleasant castle opposite the now privately owned renaissance burg hochems. on the right is the onesternaubach, a stream where children played. although officially a city this is a very quiet place with not many inhabitants (city-wise) there are outside and inside seats. as it was a sunny summer afternoon, I chose a table outside and ordered an espresso. It would have been recommended to try one of their advertised fenkart chocolate products (after the family name of the people who run this place.) the espresso was made with coffee from the local vorarlberg braterei amann that supplies almost all caffes in the ländle quality. a glass water was served with it and a tiny piece of nut, packed in chocolate. the price is somewhat higher than elsewhere in this area, but somehow deserves. service was good and professional.

I went for a drink and a dessert here with a friend, the hot chocolate was nice. However, we took a deck of cards and we were going to play while we are and, even though the place was empty, we were told we were...not allowed to play. We asked why and the waitress said that the owner was really uptight (haha and that there was no reason not to play. We live around the corner from this coffee shop and would have gone there all the time if it wasn't for the rude and uptight manager/owner(? . Anyway, please consider to loosen up a bit and we might come back, as it stands, you lost two customers!

Wow - gewaltig !! Freunde von uns haben das Schosskaffee empfohlen und uns vorgeschwärmt. Tatsächlich wurden wir sehr freundlich empfangen und dann durften wir dieses Frühstück geniessen. Auf einer 3-stöckigen Étagère wurde uns nur Bestes und Frischestes geboten : Vom frischen Lachs über Wurst und Käse, zu knusprigen Brötchen und tolle Konfitüren und frisches Früchtejoghurt. Getränke inkl. Und zum Beginn. Quasi als Amuse Gueule 2 Pralinés. Alles einfach perfekt ! Auch erfreulich, das Inhaberpaar ist auch an einem Montagmorgen anwesend. Danke !Wir kommen wieder.
