Definitely a hole in the wall restaurant, but with great food. Simple limited menu, this is as original Indonesian as you can find in the USA. Good food, big portions and CHEAP prices. Go with a lot and order dishes to be shared. P. S. You can be the only non-Indonesians there.

The best Indonesian food in the Southeast!. So far, this is the best Indonesian food I tried in the USA. Everything is very nice and the price is also very reasonable. Just GO!

Good Indonesian. I must admit, that was my first advance in Indonesia. It will definitely not be the last! The restaurant itself is quite small with about 8 tables or something. It has some decorations on the walls, including a few pictures of the President and Vice(? President of Indonesia. It has somehow felt this hole in the wall, but it is in a newer style shopping center. The staff is very friendly and it seems like a family house. As for food, it was really good. My fiancée and I started with the Martabak Telor appetizer (deeply fried crepes filled w/earth beef, egg, scalion onion. She described them first as spanikopita quiche that gives them is not 100% accurate, but I think it is quite close. It definitely has a flocky crust on it and the filling is nice and tasty and not unlike a meat quiche. She then had the Bakmi Ayam Nyah Niek (egg noodle w/chicken, mushrooms, roasted Wintons, and served with meatball soup. It came with a side of some pretty sharp red pepper sauce that added some nice heat to the dish. The meatball soup was rather unlustered; two small meatballs in a bland broth. But the main part of the plate was really good. I had the Bihun Goreng (stir fried rice noodles w/chicken, meatballs, egg and vegetables that came with these fried rice crackers things. It reminded me of a Chinese dish, but with more taste. Both dishes also came with these small fried mushroom pieces, which added a beautiful small crumb factor at meals. I see myself coming here quite often, especially because they are open until midnight and during lunch you can choose 3 dishes for $5. The portions are huge, especially for how cheap it is. The menu has descriptions in English, but the Specials Board is strict in Indonesia. Next time I have to ask for some basic descriptions of the cash register, or maybe you just trust her to get something for me!

Gotta say Batavia has got this place beat but it's still a good place for Indonesian food. The combo special is excellent (better than Batavia's actually) and this place has dessert drinks cendol!

Great authentic home cooked Indonesian fare. Their Beef Rendang is the best. Heaping potions and tons of flavor. Go now before it gets too crowded.
