The bar / restaurant is just in front of the main square, great location. The service is very nice. The food so so, meat a bit chewy. Not too expensive but not in line with what you get

After walking the plaza in one of the coldest autumn days, thus cafe had a great coffee and cafe to keep us warm.Love the traditional and rustic tables. The bathroom was clean but the floor leading us there was a little slippery. The staff was very nice

Great place with really friendly service. Definitely recommend the empanadas though there is a pretty good menu range.

We decided to give the Viamonte another try after a bad experience about a month ago - when we sat outside on a sunny Saturday and left after about 15-20 minutes because no waiter came to our table. So this time we went on a weekday to have lunch inside. The waiter was friendly took the order rapidly. So far so good. Then after a longer but still acceptable period of time came the food and it was terrible! The side of salad of the bondiola dish was full of bugs - no kidding! They took the plate back to the kitchen and replaced the salad. When the waiter brought it back the meat was half cold.The salad of the other dish (the Mama Mia milanesa) looked like it was from last week. Both the bondiola and the millanesa meat was hard like rubber. I had the impression as if the milanesa was fried twice and the fries microwaved.

My family and I had a wonderful lunch this afternoon at Viamonte, right on the square and a short walk from our hotel. After months in BA and too much steak and pasta, I was thrilled with my chicken and vegetable stir fry. Fresh veggies, not overcooked and great flavor. My daughter had a very gourmet looking burger, and my husband enjoyed their creative take on a choripan sandwich, with the sausage more like a patty, cheddar cheese and barbecue sauce. A nice bottle of wine, blue sky and sunshine and people watching completed our first meal in the Mendoza area. Service was attentive but relaxed, as I find most everywhere outside of the States, and appreciate. Price was very reasonable.
