Bidrage med feedbackThe kitchen was really good and cheap in comparison to paris. the choucroute de la mer is excellent, so is the croustillant de langoustines . a restaurant that I would like to go back to. the waitress was friendly and the general atmosphere was cheerful, though with more...few customers, it was a winter and wintry weekday.
We ate in the restaurant as a party of 10 that was ok, but I fear not unforgettable. the young coworkers tried their best, but there was a bit of a language barrier that did not help, ie overall, i would eat there...again to see if we were just happy at the restaurant in a bad night. for what we had, I thought it was a little expensive.
Spent ages looking for where to eat as in Thalassotherapy (spelling? hotel really great Novotel. Ate there first night (very good and didn 't want to walk all the way into Dinard particularly. A couple of good reviews of la brassiere in trip advisor from...2017 but big gap back to 2016. Half way house from Novotel was the area which included vents et Marees restaurant right across the road from La Brasserie. Great chat in there and a glass of wine and considered staying as half empty and good menu. Wish we had quite honestly but we 'd booked la brassiere. Brasserie has nice setting with tablecloths and there were two tables of four plus us two. My food was OK but was expected to be 'froid ' (cold as it was oysters and carpaccio beef. My wife 's was a Caesar salad which is pretty difficult to mess up and a fish dish with vegetables. Along with this she ordered a local potato side dish. This came cold and tasteless. The whole main course was stone cold. Cold plate, basic sliced carrot and an unidentifiable other vegetable which were bland, cold and had not been cooked properly. She couldn 't eat it. Told the waiter and all he did was remove the potato dish from the table. No replacement. We really wish we 'd stayed across the road at the place we had a drink. No discussion, no asking what was wrong (wife speaks French just the end. Obviously threw the dessert at us and the bill. Removed the bottle of water and the potatoes from the bill my wife reminded me after we 'd left that a lady at one of the other tables (just two tables of four had had a 'stand up ' while we were waiting so we weren 't the only ones. My advice is try the 'vent et Marees ' across the road. Never again.
We ate here during our recent visit to Dinard, staying at the Novotel Thalassa. We were not disappointed, this was the best meal we had on our holiday. It was a lovely warm evening and we had reserved a table for the outside eating area,...which is partly sheltered and perfect for watching the world go by. The service was excellent throughout, every member of staff is a professional who knows their trade inside out. The menu is extremely varied and fairly priced given the high quality. I had the maison foie gras de canard, followed by a seafood platter. Both were excellent. Apple tart with salted caramel butter for dessert. Delicious. Reserve in advance, you won't be disappointed.
Lovely high standard and well presented food at a reasonable/lower than you would expect price. Good service and the staff speak some English too. Slightly clinical atmosphere. Would come back again!
