Bidrage med feedbackEvery couple of months, there is an "open house" at Forrest Friends. Visitors have the opportunity to meet pigs, cows, goats, chickens, turkeys, and other animals that have been adopted and now live in the sanctuary. It was a wonderful experience to interact with these animals up close, and even cuddle with some of them (although be aware that some of the pigs can be a bit grumpy). During the open house weekend, there are also vegan food trucks, beverages, and pastries available for purchase. We had a fantastic day and commend the staff and volunteers at the sanctuary. Please note that the sanctuary is spread across several acres and the pastures are not wheelchair accessible, including the area where food is served. (Updated from a previous review on 2019-09-16)
This charming vegan retreat offers plenty of room for the animals, who are all adorable!
Every few months, Forrest Friends holds an open house where visitors can meet the pigs, cows, goats, roosters, turkeys, and other animals that have been adopted and are living at the sanctuary. It was a wonderful experience to interact with these animals up close, and we even got to cuddle with some of them (although some of the pigs can be a bit grumpy). In addition to spending time with the animals, the open house also featured vegan food trucks, drinks, and pastries for sale. We had a fantastic day and want to give kudos to the sanctuary's staff and volunteers. Please note that the sanctuary's grounds span several acres and the pastures are not wheelchair accessible, but the area where the food trucks are located is.
