Encore Teppan - Diamond Bar

I have been here before and no issues. went on the evening of 6/8/2024 around 8 pm, waited at the front desk for a few min before anyone came to see if there were guest waiting to be seated. The host Mr man bun hipster, fist thing out of his mouth is do you have a reservation, I stated we do not so i knew we were in for wait which i was ok with, it being saturday night. So now he seats like 3 or 4 parties before us, i assume they had reservations. he comes to us and states he will seat us but it will be 20 to 30 min before the chef will come but we can have drinks and appetizers before he comes i was totally ok with it. So a waitress takes our drink orders comes back and states we can move to a different table to be service sooner or wait where we are, i asked my wife and daughter what they wanted to do and were ok with waiting. She came back and stated it would be an hour before the chef would be available. my wife asked what changed from 20 to 30 min to 1 hour???? at this time i was feeling like we were not welcome so we left. i have been there probably 5 times with no issues. this was the worst customer service i have ever experienced in my life. To the owner of this establishment you need to let you're employees know its ok to say no, i know i didn't have a reservation and if they has stated that they were not able to serv us i would have been ok with it.

Great food! Friendly and super kind service, even though we walked in late. The prices were super reasonable. We tried several types of dishes and shared them and they were all great!! You won’t regret ordering the baked Alaskan, either!

The service is always amazing, Alec and the sushi bar staff did not disappoint again tonight. You have to have their poke yellowtail. If you download their app, they have many daily takeout specials.

Tired this place for the first time and it was awesome. From the hostess to our chef, everyone was very sweet and warm and the food was amazing. This was the first time my kids tired Japanese Tappan and the loved it.

Good customer service. And that's what brings you back as a repeat customer.
