Embarrassing: Monday afternoon, quite quiet on the square and the terrace is barely half full, no other table is eating. My pregnant wife asks if I can have scrambled eggs instead of fried eggs, but that is not possible because the kitchen is too busy and that is a different pan . Another fried egg with bacon was completely burnt... (see photo attached, does not look anything like the beautiful bouncer photos in other reviews) The kitchen here has no quality or pride in what they prepare. Too bad because the surroundings are beautiful, but above all there is nothing to eat here Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

The weighing scale, the favorite pub of our unfortunately deceased father/father-in-law/grandfather Dinant. Tonight we, Dinant's son, grandson and daughter-in-law, were there to celebrate Dinant's son's birthday and reminisce together, because yes, grandpa had mentioned in the newspaper that he always paid two euros when the smoking ban came into effect in the cafes. ..he could still smoke at the bar haha. We ordered 3 radler 0.0, also 1 for our 15 year old son. This was not allowed! Special because 0.0 is freely available and everyone can drink it. Anyway, my son chose Coke and Fanta, even though his evening was already ruined in terms of atmosphere. We were celebrating so we ordered all possible snacks once...we really wanted to make it fun. At one point a blonde, arrogant waiter named Freek approaches us. Our son was not supposed to drink radler...we respond that he didn't either. Well, sir, he had camera footage. To which we said, now go and look at the camera footage, then you will see that you have falsely accused us. This was followed by the comment that we were being disrespectful. Anyone who knew Dinant knows that RESPECT is a key word in the family. So dear bartender, thank you for spoiling a birthday, thank you that an evening that was supposed to be full of reminiscing turned into an evening full of frustration and sadness for a 15-year-old boy. As Dinant would say, fie, fie, fie...We'll get it memories elsewhere from now on. We would very much like to have spent the 70 euros we had to pay differently... Family D. Arendsen. De waagschaal, de stamkroeg van onze helaas overleden vader/ schoonvader/opa Dinant . Vanavond waren wij, Dinant's zoon, kleinzoon en schoondochter, er om de verjaardag van Dinant zijn zoon te vieren en herinneringen op te halen samen, want ja opa had nog in de krant gestaan dat hij altijd twee euro betaalden toen het rookverbod in de cafes kwam..kon hij toch aan de bar blijven roken haha.We bestelden 3 radler 0.0 , ook 1 voor onze 15 jarige zoon. Dit mocht niet ! Apart want 0.0 is vrij verkrijgbaar en mag iedereen gewoon drinken. Afijn zoonlief koos cola en fanta, al was zijn avond al qua sfeer verpest. We vierden feest dus bestelden alle mogelijke borrelhapjes 1x...we wilden het echt gezellig maken. Op een gegeven moment komt er een blonde te arrogante ober naar ons toe. Het was niet de bedoeling dat onze zoon radler dronk...wij antwoorden dat hij dat ook niet deed. Nou meneer had camerabeelden. Waarop wij zeiden dan ga nu de camerabeelden maar bekijken, dan zul je zien dat je ons vals beschuldigd. Hierop kwam de opmerking dat we respectloos waren. Een ieder die Dinant kende weet dat RESPECT een kernwoord in de familie is. Dus beste barman, dank voor het verstieren van een verjaardag, dank dat een avond die vol moest staan van herinneringen ophalen veranderde in een avond vol frustratie en verdriet bij een jongen van 15. Zoals Dinant zou zeggen, foei foei foei...Wij halen voortaan ergens anders herinneringen op. DEZE 70 euro die we moesten afrekenen hadden we heel graag anders besteed.. Familie D. Arendsen.

Today we had lunch at the cafe, but afterwards it turned out that we had used the wrong voucher and had paid too much. After contacting us by telephone, we were allowed to send a small amount of the excess amount paid. This has been duly paid. Great service! Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
