Bidrage med feedbackGood food. Horrible service. Waitress didn’t great us for at least 20 minutes. No napkins, no water, no refills, no follow up. Cool concept family style breakfast. Food had potential. Grits were cold. Shrimp had tails left on. Very sad as we try to support local businesses. There was no coming back from super poor service. We won’t be back.
My fiancée and I saw them on Fox 2 News and decided to make a reservation for breakfast on Saturday morning. Arriving to the place, it wasn’t the most attractive from the outside but we still went forward. Upon entering the restaurant, it was a old, dirty scene with an empty hostess station. We were never greeted as we stood by other couples waiting to check in. After 15 minutes of not being greeted, I walked over to approach three women and asked about checking in. The woman who was cashing people out said, “I’m the hostess and will be right with you”. She came over a few minutes later and greeted us and stated that there is a wait although we had a 12:30 pm. It was now 1:00 pm and we were nowhere near being seated. Finally, a gentleman who was there eating stood up and said to us, “we waiting a long time to sit, a long time for our food and it wasn’t good and now we are waiting a long time for our bill”! We decided to leave and go and have breakfast at the Jagged Fork which was amazing. I would not recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy, because customer service is clearly not a priority.
I brought my wife here for brunch. We were promptly seated and greeted by our server. She took our order and brought our drinks thereafter. We ordered chicken and waffles and shrimp and grits shareable plates. It took about 1hour and 45 mins for us to get our food. It wasn't just us either. We started to look around the restaurant and notice that people seated before us and after us didn't have food either. People were complaining left and right. Our food eventually came and it was ok. But the time it took was absolutely ridiculous. While we were there we looked at other reviews which said the same thing. I hope the management group reads this and starts to make some much needed changes! I will not return.
Better experience this time around with my Mom and my son. We all enjoyed the food, especially the German Chocolate Waffle and Sundried Tomato Chicken Sausage. The server was very nice and we were able to get coffee refills this time. The food took about 20-25 minutes, which was a marked improvement from our previous visit. (Granted, we were there early and it wasn't busy. My mother and son thought the coffee was weak but I felt it was just fine. The only real downside this time was the temperature it was pretty cold and my feet were freezing the whole time. I'm glad I gave it another try.
We my daughter, grand-daughters and I) took my husband , Poppy , for a birthday Brunch after church. The food was wonderful and plentiful. Where some establishments offer a child 's brunch for 12 dollars or more, 3 adults and 2 children ate well with leftover catfish for a Superbowl sandwich for less that $60! Because all of food is made from scratch with love , do not come there in a hurry. However, food should be accompanied by fellowship and the dying art of leisurely family conversation. Cynthia chair of the corn pancake fan-club!
